When I saw this, it totally reminded me of the style of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (which I highly recommend, if you haven't played it already). 80s awesomeness!

An email was sent out in (I think) December, apologizing for the relative silence but stating that production was underway, which is taking all of their time and attention.  I don't know that they're using Kickstarter updates to keep people informed, but there has been some communication (if sparse).

It's not really surprising, it raised a lot more than expected and film projects are notorious for delays.

Had I not been following the AVGN Movie, I probably wouldn't realize just how many pieces have to come together for film production.  With such a stylized film, I would much rather they take as long as needed to make Kung Fury look right!

FYI, latest update (video posted 07 Jan 2015) says they expect to wrap up production in February and release the movie in March.  T-shirts and posters should be going out to backers who pledged for them over the next few weeks.
