First up is Josh:

 

 

Painting the hoodie I couldn't resist a nod to Belichick. The casting of the left eye pitted, so I just did the best I could there.

 

Next up, Phil:

 

 

And finally, Ned:

 

 

The area around the left hand/top of the gun/scope is all bumpy and miscast, so I did the best I could to detail it with paint. My first try at camo, more freehand wood grain.

 

These guys were all a lot of fun to paint despite the mediocre casting. I tried a bit of freehand on each of them and was trying to work on painting faster and more accurate (to spend less time fixing/cleaning). I didn't really keep track of time like I intended, but I'd say maybe 7 hours for the three of them.

I've got the Zombicide series of games and I know these minis. They are small with realistic proportions making them seem even tinier.

I can't believe you were able to paint them up to this level.

These do look amazing. I think what jumps out at me the most is that the pants and shirt especially on the first two look so incredibly realistic. Very nice work.

 

When you say freehand wood grain, do you mean that you freehanded those lines on the baseball bat there?

Fantastic! I love the look of the camo. And the logo- go Brady! Really lovely work. Nice and clean, which helps to accentuate the sculpt details. Great work with tough casts!

Yep, that and the sheriff's gun stock. The gun stock came out a bit too subtle for photos, though. It could have used a third step of highlight, really. I've been working on wood grain on and off since the summer with the pirate flag pole. Good project for brush control and adding in detail.

 

The hand grip and bat are all based in the same color (leather brown). Then I mixed in yellowed bone and finally a pass of straight yellowed bone to do the bat. The hand grip I left leather brown as the highlight and shaded down (with some brown on the palette, those browns all started to get mixed together at some point!). I like the trick of the shadow of the lighter area being the highlight of the darker area, something I'm trying to play with more.

I vote for the order of request. That makes you second. If it makes you feel better, the school-yard kids seem to think mine will be worst and yours will be the best. Now, who is next and do they already have a hairy chest or is Cash going to paint it?

Guys, guys...I have one more season 1 survivor, then the expansion and season 2, then the season 2 KS survivors....and that's before I paint any zombies or zombivores!
