I'll have to see how I am feeling later in the week before I make a decision.  Today already kicked my arse, and it's only Monday.  The drive up and back and walking all day at Santa's Village with the kids wiped me out far worse this year than in years past.  Damned weight loss made me actually feel the cold this time around.

Warlord, I have at least played once and watched it played several times.  Never played CAV.  Might have time to learn by then though.  We will have to see if there are some game table available.

After all the years of demo work and convention support.  Yeah, you could say I have a few Reaper minis lying around.

DOn't ask me about rules though, I don't think I have played a game of Warlord in close to 2-3 years.  CAV is probably another year behind that.

As a NEMPA member-in-absentia, were you guys to wind up playing CAV 2, would you be willing to test out some rules tweaks I've been working on?

I'm game.  I'd have to learn CAV 2 first.  Or SO or whatever it;s called now.

CAV:SO is the new version.  There are only beta rules available.  I'm only familiar with 1.5 and 2.0.  Although I did play a few games of original CAV that got me hooked right before 1.5 came into existence.

Qwyk, did you ever demo CAV at Origins?

 

I played a demo way back in 2004 or 2005, and bought the boxed set at the time. I'm wondering if you were running the thing. (My memory is a little fuzzy)

 

Maybe I'll dust off an old metal CAV and bring it along. (Maybe I'll also have a box of plastic CAV to go with it - You never know!)

 Well, it's looking like I may well get to this paint day after all - or, at least, there's a possibility of me showing up.

(Of course, there's also a possibility of me randomly showing up inside CERN's large hadron collider as well (dontchya hate when that happens?), lol...)

It's entirely possible I was running some of the CAV demos.  If not, I was at one of the other tables running Warlord.

I can't remember what year I started doing demo work for Reaper, but I think it was around that same time.  My first big convention demo was at Gen Con, and I had never played CAV other than a CAV 1 demo, and had a cold read of the rules on my flight there, and a 20 minute walk through of the the new (1.5) rules with Thane and MadPat, and then I hit the ground running.  People would ask me how hard it was to pick up the rules, and I would check my watch and tell them how many hours I had been playing

 

I primarily demo'd Warlord when I was active because there was a huge group of CAV guys already.  The Black Lightning program was originally founded as the CAV demo guys, and then expanded into other Reaper Games and activities, like Paint n Takes.
