@willen  --  OMG, WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!  just kidding...  get that new drill bit and a ton of green stuff and make that sallie into a jumping monstrosity.

Did you read my mind on the final pose?!?!?

Intentional ankle separation > unintentional ankle separation.

Grr CSU

Hey, ask my Reverend Moira. And my girl Moderator. If you don't have a couple ankles breaking in your infinity minis you haven't taken them out of the blister. Consider it first blood and go for more.

Zen Terrain stuff looks very good online. Glad to hear it's actually so in person.

@monkeysloth  --  looking good so far, i was looking at these zen buildings myself, may have to jump on board now.

They're quite nice but take some time to assemble. Plus they don't have playable interiors. He's planning on an upgrade for the habs eventually so I didn't glue the roofs in place. If you do order from Zen select the Euro price and let paypal convert over going USD. He hasn't updated prices based off of the Euro drop in value so you'll save 10-15% by doing so. Add that to the 10% discount for first time buyers (if you create an account) and that will cover shipping costs easily.

I have some Systima gaming stuff coming soon too. Ordered it around the same time but never got it, just contacted him and it turns out it never was shipped (which is much better then being lost in the mail) so I should have that by the end of the month. Got a free Satellite Antenna for my troubles which is quite nice.

Very curious to see how the fish plants work.  I have never gotten them to work without them looking like they belong in a fish tank.

I haven't had a chance to play with them yet, hoping to this week, but so far everything has held up well.

Those buildings are neat! And give us a shout if you have issues with the airbrush... it is a tool, it takes practice, so don't be down if first try requires fine-tunning.

That's what I'm hoping I can get down with all the simpler stuff. I'm sure it will take some effort.

That's a rough break. I'd get the larger pin rod and drill, 2x the normal size, to fix this but you might as well repose since you're half way there.

If you are talking about my Salamandra, pictured, it was done on purpose

It's been almost a week since I can't find my little tool box with all the drilling bits, most of the knife blades' replacements and some of the x-acto handles, color shapers, etc. I am really concerned about that; it took me a fair while to collect all that stuff (not to mention the money) and I basically feel I am lacking, like, a hand you know?

I bought because of discounted shipping deals over the holidays. Really makes a difference as EU to US isn't cheap (though I know it's a lot more to Brazil). I'm hoping that next Christmas Custommeeple will do free worldwide shipping on all orders like this did last year--totally missed it.

Anyway, spent most of the night clipping, cleaning and sorting my Battlezone stuff from Mantic. Had packed this for the move but decided to break it down to take less space. Would love to be able to play around with it right now but I have the problem that with trying to sell my house I never really know when someone will want to come look at it so I have to keep the mess to a low.

I will say that they take forever to prep. I think I got 5-6 sets with 4 accessories sets (so 8 sprues) and I've done maybe 60% in the past month for a total of maybe 7-8 hours.

Also looks like my airbrush stuff will arrive today so yea!

Been playing around with the airbrush the past two days and still trying to figure out how to use it. Pressure, paint output and area covered are pretty easy to pick up but learning where that's useful and how to make it useful is a bit more work.

These are the bases. Probably not the best starting thing as I really don't know it to make sure to get the ridges to take a layer without covering the deep part of the ridge. Guess for that effect I'll have to go from much more top down.

I think these will look nice after a wash and then a drybrush so no real loss. I went into knowing that airbrush have limits and I just need to learn them.

I've started on some GW scenery I've had waiting to be painted for like 3 years and the significantly larger object is much easier to pick up some things on.

Debating on if I want to do another thread for that as I'm going to be sealing a bunch of MDF with Shellac tomorrow then start painting that --which I'll past here.

Few thoughts so far.

1) my $90 compressor is great. Needed a few screws tightened and a $8 adaptor for my badger stuff but was well worth it. Don't drop more then $100 unless you need a multigallon tank because you're going to be spending hours painting.

2) Even though I, mostly, wear a mask my basement is well enough ventilated and it takes 30-60 minutes to clear up. This is mostly from the cleaner (alcohol).

3) news paper\junk paper is worth it.

4) As is a cleaning station. Harbor freight has a cheap one, Iwata has a nice glass one.

5) You got through a ton of water as you're always cleaning these things out.

6) I really like learning with the Badger paints as, outside of the black (which is a bad mix) none of them require thinning in the Patriot. Means less things to learn at first.

Here's my set up. Pretty cheap but functional.

Just remember alcohol is very bad for the lungs, please wear a mask and ventilate your workplace before removing it. We want to have MS for a whle yet.

I need your help here guys. I finally found my tool box, so I am happy, and working on the Szally.

This is the leg /running pose right now. My fingers are in the way because it is so top heavy bluetac would not hold it in place.

Now, concerns:

- very top heavy, will the chopped up single ankle be enough support? It is pinned, of course, but the pin (doble pin) is not very thick (like, small paperclip thick floral wire). There is a second pin from the foot to the cork now, that is steel paperclip, but the whole leg is very difficult to drill up more than 5mm. I am debating now, should I use a power toll and extend the leg-base pin up through the ankle join?

- Arm position is difficult to gauge righth now... opinions on the mock up above? I hated the straight-arm flamethrower (right arm of the mini) so I chopped the elbow join to bend it. But the bicep position, and the should join, makes the bend such that the right amr corsses over the chest. I kinda like it, however, after looking at it for minutes.. if I lower that should it would look like a should-down, charging forward pose.

- The Heavy Particle Magnetic Cannon looks too... "gatling". I have no idea have to mod it :(

- Running pose, a Salamandra (I am actually thinking renaming the unit to Basilisk), two-leg lizard run... it need a tail! What about that! It would also help, somewhat to balance the very front-heavy model I have now. I would need to sculpt it...

Help me guys, you are my only hope!

if you could mod the left shoulder and swing the arm back to move the center of gravity back again to the center (verticle) balance point.   When we walk or run our arms are the opposite of our legs.  Right foot back, right arm forward.. left foot forward, left arm back.  This keeps us from falling over.

If you could drill up (slow power drill) from the bottom of the foot into the upper leg and use a steel paper clip as a pin, all the way up into the leg, it would definitly be a stronger joint.  But you would have to go slow with the drill and possibly use some oil in the hole to help the drill along.
