I am really glad you like them, Joy.  And I want to thank everyone else for the comments, compliments, critiques, and advice.  I like running these sculpting WIPs; makes it feel more like a team effort.

I'll be looking into casting options next week, following some leads Joy found, and I'll also bring them to ReaperCon and see what advice I can get from the more experienced sculptors and ReaperPeeps. They all know the industry much better than I.

I LOVE Elizabeth! I would pay anything for a set of these! Have you done any other biblical figures?

Thank you.  No, these are my first biblical figures, though likely they won't be my last.  I'm toying with the concept of someday doing a risen Christ meeting Mary M. by the tomb.  I definately liked doing the figures together as a story.  I can't wait to see how Joy puts them together in a diorama.

just a note on casting. I know you're probably in the USA, but Sculpture Supply Canada has some great and really affordable casting systems. They ship to the USA! but it might be better off looking for people who carry Smooth-on products and ship from within the US. (Side note: Smooth-on carries high quality two part epoxy putty for a amazing price! I got 3 pounds of it for under 50 dollars, and it's artist quality stuff!)

Good luck with casting!

**Edit: Just realized I sounded like a salesman in this post... sorry about that!

I decided not to cast them.  There are a few details that I'd have to change should we cast them. I'm sending them on to Joy tomorrow.

I did however sculpt Joy a Chicken for the base, which I am sure she can explain better how she'll use it than I.  I based it off of a breed of chicken that would have been around in Biblical times. I sculpted the tail and primaries and then hinted at the rest of the feathers.  Too much detailing on feather makes them look unrealistic.  Better for the details to be painted on.

Now I just can't wait to see how Joy paints this set.  ::D:

road runner/chicken breed ^_^

She wanted a running chicken.

It's been my experience that all chickens run. Usually away. And usually under some low handing thing which smacks you clean on the head, resulting in your rear on the ground and a bump on your head.

Chickens are the devil's creation. <_<

Too bad about the casting, but better to be done than have to go back and change what's already finished. I do want that chicken, though!

Probably not as it is a 54mm scale chicken and would come up to the waist of a 30mm mini.

Which I presume is why it is running from Mary as she sings to God.
