Creature Caster has announced they will be delaying the start of their kickstarter to better prepare prepare for higher than expected production demands as well as adding to the kickstarter offers.

I have concerns myself with Creature Caster going from having a narrow focused kickstarter to something more than a bit broader, but considering the buzz going on about their kickstarter, I'm glad they're delaying it to make sure they have all their production and fulfillment ducks lined up in a row.

From what I'm seeing, the extra stuff they talk about like the art portfollio, really doesn't sound like it'll be that much work, more fluff for people that are -shiny...

 

ahem. You get the point. I'm watching this somewhat interestedly, I don't have space for colossal figures, but I'd LOVE to see the expressions on my PCs faces when busting some of these bad boys out

They change the date at the last minute, of course folks are gonna get cranky, especially since now there is no set time. 

 

IMHO good call on the Treeman, no way would it have the numbers of a demon or dragon.

Yep. The last minute delay is rubbing a number of folks the wrong way. I'm not too bothered though cause it's more time for me to try to save my monies.

 

Funny. The two dragons and the treeman were the three minis I was interested in.

 

Not saying I would've got all three, I'm not even sure I'll even be able to get one right now since no hints have been given about pricing.

How big is the delay? I have seen some videos he did, but he doesn't quite mention it.

The main reason for the delay is to make sure he can get guarantees of production capacity from his caster(s) as it became clear the capacity he had lined up would not be near enough (he is also going to use the delay to add more cool stuff/options etc)

 

so it will probably depend on when he can get more capacity or an additional caster

Much better to have a delay now than later when you have the deadlines looming and discover that your caster can't handle the volume  because your kickstarter exploded. I can't even begin to understand why people are upset about a delay here, they would be a lot more upset about a delay later.

In hindsight, CC shouldn't have posted a firm set date for the start of their KS before looking for feedback about their concepts and asking for ideas on line.

Reversing that would have been a lot better for CC and avoided some of the negative criticism they're now getting.

Dear CC, you could've just pushed your estimated shipping dates back by a couple of months.

 

People would've been none the wiser (unless you already promised them a delivery date), and it would have avoided all the criticism you're facing now, Plus, unless your estimates were questionable to begin with, it should've given you enough breathing room. (And did I mention even missing a KS delivery date isn't all that bad? Miniatures fans seem pretty forgiving of anyone who communicates better than CMON...)

 

Your Facebook assumption a delay of a launch is far better than a delay of a shipment? Wrong.
