It may seem a simple thing but I like the matching 2nd colour that you added to her boots and clothing.

I also like the rock outcrop breaking up the greenery of the base, and your work on the stone tip of the spear.

I know these may seem like odd parts of the mini and base for me to comment on, but they are the parts that caught my attention first.

Hi Darsc;

As always, thank you for your comment(s)...I really enjoy that you have the keen eye (as you have done in the past) to pick out my subtle details in my vignettes...I am surprised that you made no comment on the green leaf plant behind her...It was made out of tissue thin cigarette papers...soaked in water...wrinkled up & let dry...cut into leaf shapes...stained with (4) ink colors...let dry...sprayed with a dull finish coat...added to the vignette base/one leaf at a time...I think that they turned out pretty nice (even if I say so myself).

Sorry Catdancer. I didn't comment on the plant, although it certainly is something that draws the eye, because I had thought it was something that you had bought and repurposed to use as scenery. I hadn't realized it was handmade by yourself. ::):

While I don't want to take focus way from the topic at hand, since I have you here I was wondering if we might see you return to your fantasy buildings and the market/fair booths anytime soon.

I know you had said you wanted to take a break from them to focus on other projects such as your amazon... But it has been a while and was curious. :;):

Darsc;

It is ironic that you mention/bring up the topic of fantasy buildings and the market/fair booths...my return to them had crossed my mind around my birthday...my current schedule has the following items/projects in the works and/or pending...I want to/have to get these done prior:

1. A commission project for a fantasy bordello/sporting house in 28-32mm scale...for a private collector.

2. Amazon female (Reaper #03303 = with club)...for my amazon army.

3. Amazon female (Dragonblood #DBM011...Princess of the Evening Star...for my amazon army.

4. Amazon female (Elmore Masterworks #DSM-1169)...Amazon with two handed sword.,,for my amazon army.

5. Bayou fishing wharf (scratch built = listed in my (WIP) list for the first 6 months of 2014...a major piece for my own collection.

So as to when I will return to the fantasy buildings and market/fair booths...I have no real idea and/or time frame.

Wow. You do have quite the project list Catdancer. Lots of variety in subject matter too. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you.

I expect you'll be posting pics of most of these. Any chance you'll be able to post pics of your commission piece once it's done before you send it off?

I'd also be most looking forward in seeing your Bayou fishing wharf once its done. There's something about your nautical themed work that I quite like.

Darsc;

I only post commission work...if my client gives me permission to do so...The (3) amazon figures will have to be posted off-site due to the topless nudity of each figure...The Bayou fishing wharf will be posted (but that is a few months down the line...at best).

      So here's another from the last year.   I was unmotivated at first because the facial detail was a bit lacking but I like the way it turned out.

      Hi chums!

      This is the latest Kickstarter project, expanding our fantasy range this time, and bringing light to the ones we have that might not have been noticed. Along with some super cool female minis, we have some brand new scenics too, and a whole bunch of add on bundles.
      I'll post more on the lead up, but for now if you're interested, could you click the "notify me" on the pre launch page and it will help the algorithms, and you know algorithms are the new gods!

      Next in line: 77049, Bones Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger.

      I tried priming with a 1:1 mix of Blue Liner:White Brush On Primer.  There were a few mold lines and casting valleys that showed up.  I put a layer of Brush On Sealer on them.  We’ll see how that worked.

      Presenting the Frost Giant Heroine from Reaper.

      Not my best work, I'm still not great at getting all the mold-lines off these PVC minis, plus I was painting her to help work through some issues I was having so she's a bit on the rough and basic side.
      Was still a lot of fun to paint up though, I'll have to get the other one done now.

      As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

      This is the Bones version of the iconic character, painted in a rather quick and dirty fashion. There was a lot of metal and chain mail, which I did not spend time on, and a few details which I picked out.  In retrospect I could have brightened up the armor some, but since she's likely to go on the table as a generic fighter I didn't feel the need to make her special.
