(sorry for the double post)

Did it get lost in transit? RAFM has been pretty good with personal correspondence about where my particular package is.

Nope. I'm backer #3 and I invested heavily in the campaign - which under the twisted logic that powers most RPG-based Kickstarters these days means I'll get my stuff dead last. Needless to say, I had some choice words to say when RAFM had the audacity to offer to ransom the shipping of my stuff for a few extra bucks.

Oh that was you...

I didn't post a rant - I almost never post (or read for that matter) anything in the comments section of a KS. First, comments are usually ignored or dismissed outright, so it seems a waste of time and effort. Second, the noise to signal ratio amongst the posters is so high it makes my brain hurt. Based on your comment, I assume somebody publicly lambasted RAFM for their proposal - but I can assure you it wasn't me. I was content to curse them under my breath and then get on with my day.

My sympathies, i would expect you to get some priority support from them. People like you are the reasons others like me joined the bandwagon. I bid the minimum outlay for the highest possible gains but it sounds like you were there to support them as an actual participant. You would think they would make an exception for the higher end backers, if only for the good press and future good will.

I will be honest, the value of what I got well exceeded the additional cost of extra shipping. And from the shipping cost on the box they lost money there too.

As for Judges guild CSOTMO was a nostalgic purchase for me. I still have my original and i liked the idea of the city reloaded for modern RPG. However, I still have my judges guild stuff that I wanted originally and see no reason to suffer any more under their whimsy ... I do hope to see that book some day before i die but I am not counting on it.

Lesson learned. It just bothers me that a number of the companies I respected have worked so hard to make me lose that respect.

I'm still waiting. Starting to worry slightly as I got a shipping notification on the 6th of April. But perhaps it's being held by customs, sometimes that takes a while. I want my toys though!

Same here with the shipping notice and then lack of any notification from customs.

...I'm writing a reply to your email by the way and will send today. I'm just being hopeless  at responding to emails...as usual

My figs finally arrived today.  They are quite nice.  However, two pieces (Mr. Shiny and Buckley's Ghost) were missing from my order.  You would have figured that in the (roughly) seven months that my order was sitting around as part of "the next batch ready to go out the door" someone would have bothered to double check the box.  If you think I'm being snitty, you have no idea how wild I would have been if I had agreed to pay RAFM 's ransom request and this had happened.

You can all dogpile me now for daring to expect that someone running a KS might try to make at least a half-hearted attempt at customer satisfaction . . .

I wish Johnny Lauck was pumping out CoC miniatures . . .

Johnny could probably pad his retirement immensely by teaching others how to run a ks. But to be fair, he does control all the variables, including the metal stock. 0 outsourcing is where so many ks, like this one seem to get in trouble, usually by underestimating the change orders.

Glad to hear you have got most of your stuff, sorry they screwed up.

They are an established business but they haven't run this any better than a first time kickstarter (which shows that running a business and running a Kickstarter ain't the same thing, I guess.)

But they haven't bailed on it, and the miniatures are very nice.

EDIT: and I just remembered that one reason I backed this with confidence is because they had run that indiegogo campaign previously (which I did not back), and it appeared to have gone like clockwork.  So I was somewhat baffled when this project became overdue and problems arose.

Yeah.  I was one of the first backers to get on board with the Indiegogo campaign - and it ran with clock-like precision.  That's is why I'm aggravated about the slipshod effort they made this time around.

They got burned very badly by international currency rates. When the project launched the Canadian dollar was trading at around $0.90 USD and it had been there or higher for years. Six months later, it was trading at $0.75 USD and has varied from $0.69 to $0.80 ever since. It is like someone picked their pocket for $7000 before they made a mini.

I'm sure they will make everything right eventually, but they are stuck digging out of a huge hole. It's been a tough couple years in Canada.

True enough.  Didn't they also say they miscalculated the cost of resin and that they paid a sculptor who never produced anything for them?
