After awhile the sleeves & the pants I just pushed up & unbutton the front a bit. Helped we had a open door in the gaming area to let the air blow in. I was gonna take mine off when I got back to the HGI & the firepit but the way the material was bunched around my knees helped them. Only day of the Con my knees didn't hurt. Must be Texas as my knees don't hurt even going back to work last night...... .

 

Probably a good thing with the events that happened for me that night/morning....

I try to take the climate into consideration when I choose a costume.  For Reapercon I expected it to be warm and picked a short sleeved shirt and a sleeveless vest.  Even so, it got warmer than I expected in the hall and the vest came off in mid afternoon. 

 

Another thing to keep in mind is the costume material.  Synthetics are not going to breathe, they just become a big, hot, plastic bag, like Haldir found out.  If you are sewing something you have to look for lightweight fabrics, sometimes leave out layers or fake them. 

 

I would be happy to help someone plan a comfortable costume for next year.

I was warm all day, but I was surprised at how well by body actually handled it. Granted, I was sitting most of the day, and only wearing a tee-shirt under it, leaving time for my body to get used to it.

 

Now if the temperature was any higher like it was on the day of the Meet and Greet (high 80s), I would've suffocated under it.

My understanding is that RC17 will still be set Dreadmere, minus the loosing faction from RC16.  I think Disciples of Cthon lost, leaving Bonehenge, Duskwardens, and Maggotcrown.
