For next year: White long-sleeved T-shirts with Crusader Blue trousers and White shoes could work for the guys:

Take a moment and try to guess who that is.

Wondering if anyone will attempt Silver suits and Purple Hair...

Those have gotta be wigs right?  So straight, uniform in color, and perfectly shaped ... had to be wigs.

Oh yes, those are wigs. The costume designer was way ahead of her time for the women's outfits, but her idea that wigs would be considered a standard item of apparel in the future hasn't yet panned out.

That was one of those British shows by the people who normally worked with marionettes, wasn't it.

Now we're going to be wearing the same thing :(

But no, I might be Uhura one day and who knows what else for the other days.

We are totally gonna have to find a Star Trek corset for you now...

Hm. I can't decide what my costume will be. Maybe I'll just make use of my indecision and come as the whole solar system. Or galaxy. Something with lots of stars and planets, anyways. I do love astronomy!  :bday:

I would love to see someone come as this guy:

I think I'll be going as Pike from the Original Star Trek. A little face makeup, blurred contacts, and a wheelchair with a black casing over it and I'd be in business. Lame?

Alternatives are Gort (The Day the Earth Stood Still), Gorn (Star Trek), Sleestak (Land of the Lost), RoboCop, and Boba Fett. Also lame?

With that description at first I was thinking of Davros.

Although I suppose strictly speaking Doctor Who is not space opera.

For some reason, on the old "UFO" series, Gerry Anderson seemed to think that fashion trends would not only be extreme, but VERY localized. Purple wigs for women were only seen on Moonbase personnel. And male and female submariners at sea wore fishnet tops, for some reason. Meanwhile, in London, everyone dressed like standard Swinging London Mods, although their cars were cooler.

Trying to wrap my mind around the idea of a space corset. And wondering how much of my pirate outfit I can repurpose into a Space Pirate outfit...

Oh, and Seven of Nine did not wear a corset; she wore a specially designed costume that apparently required shoehorns to get her into, and crowbars to get her out of. It DID incorporate a corset or corsetlike section, tight enough that she apparently passed out on set at least once, had trouble sitting down, and at first required assistance whenever she needed to pee.

Now that's what I call suffering for your art.
