xanderhook
Hey everyone. It's REAPERCON TIME!!!! Just wanted to share the same helpful advice i got in years past that is so true. Don;t overload your schedule with classes. It sounds like a great idea initially, but there is so much going on, so many classes and so little time between them that it turns into information overload and you will forget over half the info before you leave. Pace yourself. Usually 2 classes a day max is good. Remember, there is always next year to grab classes you miss this year. That being said, i am sure first timers will blow this warning off,, then at the end of the con be wondering why they spent so much money for all those classes they cannot remember. But then i can say at least that I tried to help. :) Game on, Paint on and hope to see everyone there this year!! Xanderhook
MissMelons
No 1. I only have 1 class. No 2. What's the policy on recording a 1 on 1 session or Seminar??
Reaperbryan
Rule #14 https://reapercon.com/policies All ReaperCon members and attendees at ReaperCon are prohibited from recording, including photography, audio and video, any and all classes and lectures. Loim
No 1. I only have 1 class. No 2. What's the policy on recording a 1 on 1 session or Seminar?? You can always talk to the instructors between/before/after classes. They are excellent that way. Last year after my 1 on 1 with DKS he invited me to sit down, and continue what we were talking about during the session.

Shakandara
Don;t overload your schedule with classes. It sounds like a great idea initially, but there is so much going on, so many classes and so little time between them that it turns into information overload and you will forget over half the info before you leave. It cannot be stated enough just how good this advice is. Year after year, I see folks towards the end of the day with this glassy-eyed, somewhat shell-shocked look, as their brains try to grapple with the information dump they'd received over the previous 8 hours or so. Allow yourself time to process. Avoid back-to-back classes, if you can. Ferris said it pretty well: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." There's a lot more to ReaperCon than the classes. Enjoy a little time off by taking the factory tour, playing some games, or just chatting with fellow con-goers. If you don't know anyone yet, come find me (I'll probably be near the Warlord tables most of the con) and introduce yourself. I don't bite, honest (not during con-hours, anyway). ~v
Heisler
And remember when you burn out and blow off a class that's a slot some one else could have had. Reaper may refund before a class but they definitely won't do it after the class has started or been missed completely.
Moderator TaleSpinner Posted February 18, 2014 Moderator Share Posted February 18, 2014 Yeah, I took two a day last year (and three on Thursday). I got a lot of great information and took a lot of notes, it was still too much. I kind-of felt I'd missed a lot of the Con

I don't bite, honest (not during con-hours, anyway). That's not to say that he won't chew you up and spit your bones out if you face him in the Warlord tourney. I'd also recommend one class a day at most. Having time in between to practice what you've learned will really help solidify the class and make the class that much more valuable. YES IF you get overload - PLEASE come to the reg desk well before (not 5 minutes before - hours before is preferable) and return the class for full credit, and allow another patron to have the highly coveted seat. OVERLOAD IS REAL. a decade of people every year telling me that the class load they chose was too much - they can't remember anything let alone have any energy left to practice. If you are having second thoughts NOW - contact me. We can get those tickets back in the general pool same business day.
Bonwirn
Ahh, so now I will need to check the Reapercon website several times a day to see if a class I wanted, but was full, has now opened a slot... there goes productivity down the drain... but wait! I have all the experience of multi-tasking from watching the Kickstarter page! Awesome! Can I count this as Professional Development Hours?
