Arcadia Quest by CMON

Hmm. At 300K:

* 90 tokens

* 49 mini's

Is that right? Anyway, the bits and mini's look like they can be used in other games. Super Dungeon Explore will have a KS soon for its standalone / reboot, so mebbe you'll have better luck there.

I know Eric Lang is an established games designer, although I haven't played his Ameritrash games. The other designers haven't made games previously before.

I backed this early but am having a hard time keeping excited by it.  The game play video reminded me why there are several games in the closet that will not get played again.  I'm not a fan of lots of bookkeepping or lots of pieces and cards that can get knocked around.

Hello all BTW, it has been a long time since I've been well enough to participate. Who knew tha lungs could be so important?

Glad to have you (and your lungs) back!

Took the $$$ I was *going* to put into this and went to Demigods Rising instead.  Love the Arcadia minis but not buying the whole game (which looks incredibly lackluster imho).

I think one of the commenters made a very good point on BGG; the base pledge is the best deal, so get that and ignore the add-ons, which you can pick up at retail later.

I decided to back at the Guildmaster level just for the minis.  They look like a fun challenge to paint, and they have a Nicol Williamson-style Merlin!  ::D:

Project Update #52: A note on Paypal/late backing - how to do it and availability
Posted by CoolMiniOrNot ♥ Like
A lot of you have written in to ask whether we'll allow backing via Paypal.

The answer is yes - there's no need to pledge $1 to the Kickstarter campaign, although we recommend you do so in order to receive updates on Arcadia Quest through Kickstarter.

We'll have a link after the campaign is over to allow you to secure a Guildmaster pledge via Paypal without optional items, which you will be able to add via the pledge manager as normal when the pledge manager is released.

HOWEVER, availability of Paypal pledges will be limited to ensure we don't over extend the number of promos we need to make as this will affect the delivery schedule. We will announce the Paypal pledge link shortly before the campaign ends.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
interesting titbit in the comments from CMON

The will probably only be 200 or so slots to jump into post campaign for those backing late (not sure it this includes $1 backers from the campaign)

so if  this is you  make sure you do the paypal thing as soon CMON release the details as it make be a case of you snooze, you loose

As mentioned before, we read all comments, and some ideas we'll be incorporating in the product line down the road. However, 2 months is not a lot of time to get a physical product designed (production MUST begin by 1st June at the very latest), and we are already pushing the red line with Beyond the Grave coming forward (new tiles, new cards, new figures are all there). We appreciate your support, and would prefer to repay that support by delivering on schedule. Suggestions at this point are divided into two general camps: 1. Interesting ideas that we'll study more - e.g. 5-6 player campaigns, variously themed expansions, Hero packs etc. 2. Ideas that don't work in the context of this game (i.e. changing the game to something it's not) - "official" solo rules for example. Stuff in category 1 are things we'll be looking hard at, but can't possibly turn around by June, which is when everything must enter production to reach us in time for a September shipment. This includes things like new tiles (what's the point of a cosmetic reskin without playtested rules?). For those of you asking for more stuff, unfortunately we'll have to disappoint - this is as far as we can go for a $100 campaign which has a ton of components and exclusive heroes (which = molds we are never using again). If any backer feels this is "lame" and they deserve more stuff, now is their chance to back out with no hard feelings. To everyone left, thank you for your support and we look forward to bringing great things to the world of Arcadia Quest in future!

so they're clearly tightening up their campaigns (possibly even more so than with Wrath of Kings) to try and hit their ship dates

this is the final graphic of what you get (64 minis if I count right)

and possible add ons

only 4 hours to go so if you want to KS get pledging

I dropped my pledge because I feel they kill the future of their own games with all these exclusives. I liked a lot of the minis but in the end I left it for the completionists and scalpers. Shouldn't have more exclusives than base game content in my opinion.

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.

A Viking Girl sculpted by Bobby Jackson. She was a lot of fun to paint since she had a lot of canvas for freehand work. She is also my first serious effort at NMM, so that's a well I plan to return to.

I came to paint her when I asked my friends which model needed to get some love next. I presented a wizard, a ranger, and an armored lady fighter. One chimes in that she'd like to see the fighter (she being a practitioner of HEMA). Her boyfriend mentions something about boob armor. I said, no, she's got pretty normal armor. You want to see something egregious? THIS is egregious. My HEMA friend immediately says, "I'd like to change my vote." So here we are.

Here's the WIP thread for her. Here's my next piece.

This has sod all to do with miniatures, but I would be surprised if there were not people who might want one of these pins, for literally any reason at all.
I'll let the campaign speak for itself, as I usually do; it is pins. There are, as the title implies, representations for most of the common faiths, in a literal rainbow of ... well, Pride rainbows.

"You take your game seriously. Now it's time for a serious screen.
In October of 2018, Dog Might released the first fully sculpted GM Screen, the Valhalla Screen. Since then, we have released over 30 more designs, including officially licensed screens for: Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and Vampire: The Masquerade. We have also designed screens for you favorite shows, such as Relics and Rarities and the Critical Role stream of Undeadwood. Over the last year and a half, our Valhalla Screens have proven to be our most sought after product. "

... Would it surprise anybody here to know I want one?
If I can't have one, at least I can spread the word. ;p
