Yeah, spm stated they won't do anymore unassembled due to the backlash and outrage at people having to use glue on the base set. Just wishful thinking...

That... really doesn't sound like something worth getting outraged about...

You wouldn't think....but you'd be wrong.

Considering it took me about 9 hours over 3 days to trim and assemble the base set, I can see why people who area not used to assembling little people would be upset.

Wow, that's completely different.  I was thinking it was kind of "ready to assemble" from the descriptions.  Were the parts still on sprues, had flash to remove, etc.?  If that's the case, then I can definitely understand why some were upset.

The minis were on sprues, each type of mini in its own baggie, which was nice. There was quite a bit of flash, this would not be an issue for people not planning to paint theirs. Except for one model, the joints fit very nicely together. On one of the kobold models the tail didn't fit in its slot at all, so that was a pain in the posterior.

Way to be punny.

Funny, mine were not on sprues. My models had variable amounts of flash.

The heroes were all pretty good. The wrymlings had some weird mould lines in the mouth and one of my kobolds had an awful amount of flash (one of the ones with the spear).

One kobold's sword was miscast. It looks like a half size sword in length.

I think it took about 5 hours to trim all the flash, smooth the mould lines, and glue them all together.

Really, for the amount of models, cleanup went fast. I do think the average person buying a board game would be surprised by the amount of work.

One other thing which surprised me was the size of the minis. The chibi sculpting style lends itself to fairly big 28mm figures, at least in bulk.
