Dunno, didn't really read all that stuff. I might just be more interested in the minis....

Oh, I may be, as well!  But I think the game might function as a slightly more accessible equivalent of Descent: Journeys In The Dark (or at least the theme may help me lure in people who might otherwise shy away from tabletop games).  But I backed primarily for the figures.

I watched the Crits Happen video for the original version of SDE, but apparently there have been some changes to the game (I'm not sure whether to call this an expansion or a revamp).

I was looking through past updates last night, and I saw the mention of crystal affinity (shown on the unit cards).  However, I never saw the explanation of what that actually does.  Was that ever revealed?

Could be remembering it wrong, but I don't think the crystal affinities do anything yet, They're just future-proofing the cards a bit so they don't have to make new ones for the next expansion.

Now the wait for the pledge manager and seeing if I have the cash for the add-ons when it goes live.

Because being honest the extra Warbands, Heroes and a second set of life counters & potions is appealing. (Because I totally have uses for those life counters outside of SDE and need at least 40...)

Ended up almost $300 in the hole for a $100 Kickstarter!

I ended up with the base pledge, all three new heroes, an extra ninja candy/cola, Goro, the three new warbands, a bag of bones, and two bags of slime (so I can have six of each color!)

I should also be getting the base set shortly and if I like it enough I'll pick up Roxor to hold me over until December.

Slightly off topic, but I got a chance to open up the base set this morning before I went to bed.

Wow, I was impressed at the volume of stuff and how nice assembly will be with the pre-fitted pegs.

I think, seeing as tomorrow is my night off, I might put together some whelps and drakes and get some painting done. I just need to send a little time deciding on a color scheme for all of them.

Both please! My profile pic is a wide shot of base and roxor spread out on my table. I think the unassembled pics would show people that the base set is not that bad for assembly. Pre-assembled caverns of roxor was hard to paint, so was VDM to be honest. The spider and turtle cannons were the worst!
