joshuaslater
I've got two questions pertaining to our old friend Boris. He's got 4 Melee Attacks with Savage SA. 1. Does he, with four successful hits, inflict six points of damage? 2. How many wounds does he dish out, with four succesful hits, using a CoH Dwarven Hammer of the Mountain Gods, giving him the Mighty SA in addition to Savage?? Twelve? Shakandara
1. No. Savage inflicts a single additional point against a target, not 1 point per two hits. However, if you were to split the attacks against two targets, and successfully hit all 4 times, each opponent would take 3 wounds. 2. See above. Mighty does not increase the damage of wounds from Savage. His max output against a single target would be 9, max against two targets would be 10 total (5 against each). ~v
joshuaslater
Thanks Shak.. Boris had a good night, but it wasn't with Change of Heart tonight. Assassin's Blade worked like it should.
Fremen
Wow that is brutal! 9 points of damage will kill anything in Warlord I can think of...
joshuaslater
True. The large wound count is something to consider, but negating the Tough SA of many of the big points models is not to be discounted with the Assassin's Blade. Shakandara
I'd agree; I used a list built around Boris and the Assassin's Blade to great effect several years ago in the WL tournament at RCon. It wasn't the only pony in that list, but it made a significant impact. Rarely did Boris face defensive strikes, and once an opponent was down, it stayed that way. The beauty of Boris is that he is super point-efficient, much like Matisse is. They are both have little in the way of SAs and stats that they don't need, fulfilling their roles as combat monsters perfectly, and at a nice point cost. The problem with adding the hammer is a major jump in point cost, and the addition of a CP and spell that you really don't need in the process. The Assassin's Blade is a much leaner choice. For an interesting addition via CoH, look at bringing multiple Sokar's Prophets as your elites. You get Divine Vigor, Blessing, Burst of Speed, Smite, Divine Might, and Ironskin, and a nice bucket of spell points to use them with. :): ~v Edited March 13, 2014 by Shakandara
Fremen
There is a lot I had not considered in terms of why you would want to do that much damage, but now it makes total sense. And bringing Sokar's Prophets...that's just beautiful. Keep your Mercs away from me!
