The original FF has always been amongst my most prized possessions.

yup. to me it is D&D.

when i was a youth i inherited the beginnings of my gaming collection from a cousin who went off to war. it was an eclectic bunch of books and a mix of editions. I had no Monster Manual but i had the Fiend Folio and MMII (volumes some consider to be the worst of the worst). because of this my dungeons were populated by oddities. they had no orcs, no goblins, no ogres and dragons but instead they had babblers and bone snappers and volts and flumphs and froghemoths. i had no idea who orcus was, but Cryonax was a thing of terror. to this day i find that my grasp of fantasy tropes is a bit more...unconventional than the mainstream.

Excellent. The FF has always been my favourite AD&D monster book.

I love seeing people's greens; it underlines the fact that all these miniatures were actually designed and made by human beings with clever fingers.

Looks great, if maybe on the smaller side of large. But I'm sure CSM is tired of sculpts coming in oversized from other sculptors.

Keep the greens coming! Good to see them and it lets us know someone is getting paid, cause production greens is good work if one can get it.

yeah, it is definitely on the smaller side of "large." this was a compromise because the figure was listed as "medium" in the kickstarter. i did my best to work within the given description, though - if fully upright he would easily be the equivalent of 8' tall, as listed in the TOH and bulky enough to weigh 700lbs. it is worth noting that he is mounted on a 30mm base and would fit comfortably on a 40mm base.

will do! it is decent part time work and it keeps me busy. I don't command the prices that the big names do and i'm not nearly as efficient, so for now it is a way for me to  help with the occasional bill and give me a little play money for the family hobbies ( minis, paint and yarn ::): ).

Awesome sculpt! And seeing the Fiend Folio pic brought back some childhood memories - wasn't there another picture of this guy eating some unfortunate victim whole? Wish I still had that book.

yeah, thats a great one. that second panel really captured my imagination.
