Leech
I just realised where all this madness was coming from... King of the Hill is set in Texas! Darn! :o) I guess the current BL uniform stirts are a bad idea in Dallas in May then? And I'm refering to both ways it can be bad :o)
pae
Preliminary forecasts for the weekend are sunny with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Though they seem to think that mid 50s classify as 'cold'. Go figure. Edit: For the non-US people out there, that would be highs around 24 and lows around 13. Just a rough calculation there. pae
LOL. Around here, people start breaking out the shorts when the highs get into the 50s.
Reaperbryan
For those non-locals, highs in the fifties is a cold february day here. lows this time of year actually average in the 60's with highs in the 90s being normal. If that's too hot for you, forget about August - the 100s all month.
Brooding Paladin
Yeah, as I've said before, Texas has 5 seasons. Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, and August. Oof. That which does not kill us makes us meltier. Or something.
pae
It's not the heat I'm worried about. It's the humidity. Although I'm betting that my paint won't dry up on my palette quite so quickly while I'm in Texas.
Brooding Paladin
Well, there's still humidity in Dallas, but I don't think it's as hideous as, say, New Orleans or Houston. Still, it may be more than you're used to. It's usually high enough that we don't pay attention to the temperature and worry more about the Heat Index (determined by applying the temp. against the ambient humidity & coming up with what the temp. feels like). Best advice, pre-prime any minis you bring with you (though you probably already knew that...).
pae
During the summer here, the heat index is actually lower than the temperature. Right now it is 80 degrees with 16% humidity. The heat index is currently 78.
Leech
See, now there's a problem with pre-priming minis.... cos I've only stuff from MiniFigs left and I ain't even thinking of priming that stuff. I haven't got the scultping skills...... 70's isn't too much of an issue for me, since we get those for a larger portion of the year than when I was a child (it was the summer highs of low 80's). Course, humidity isn't especially welcome.... but hopefully ReaperHQ is air conditioned :o)
