Silly question, where would I get medium gray background paper?

 

B&H or any good camera store. Savage paper in 26" wide rolls (12 yards is nearly a lifetime supply for shooting minis):

What he said. Or, since you're in UT, drop by Denver for a convention and I'll hook you up with offcuts.

 

We buy the 108" wide stuff for work and when it gets scuffed or wrinkled, another 2-3 feet gets whacked off. Not very useful for the kind of product photography I get paid to do, but perfect for minis photography.
