Mocha
ahh yes the dreaded and feared underbutt butt-toothed vampire... how can we forget? Well just to be sure I saved Jessica's sketch so we won't forget! :) Nice to meet you guys! Oh my goodness-- I saw this sketch and laughed so hard... the infamous Butt-Toothed Vampire! This sketched helped me improve my highlighting and will forever be ingrained in my mind. One of my favorite memories (and classes) of the Con :) -edited for an awkward typo Edited April 28, 2014 by Mocha
NomadZeke
I may have missed it, but could someone please give a synopsis of how the butt-toothed vampire helps with the highlighting and stuff? It sounds very interesting, but I was 1000-ish miles away....
Anachronite
look back at the end of page 2 in this thread for the sketch I posted that Jessica drew. It was outlining the way to highlight and accentuate a woman's backside... as you can see from the sketch it also resembles a butt-toothed vampire :) seems I had vampire problems as well as good fortune. Good fortune being that during Saturday night's banquet I won a Reaper Vampire Kickstarter kit. But then when I opened the box and saw it full of 200 miniatures, being the noob I am I was like, "damn that's a lot of vampire miniatures!" lol... when I finally realized what I had won I was floored! Such and awesome prize and an awesome time at my very first ever Reapercon. Good times. Thanks to Reaper, the artists, and everyone of you guys there for making it such a great time!!! Can't wait for next year!
Mocha
Sure thing! Referencing the sketch from Painting Hot Chicks-- if you look at the darkest circles, those will be the brightest highlight on the backside. The outer circle, the 2nd brightest in addition to a darker shading on the [what we dubbed[ the "underbutt". The "teeth" on the upper part of the back thigh will be another highlight that will push up that contrast. I hope that makes sense! It was hard enough to describe during the class-- thus, the memorable sketch

Can't wait for next year! An amazing win and a great way to kick off your new hobby! I acquired a Vampire Package shortly after the original Kickstarter to add to my pewter Reaper collection; it'll take me years to paint & utilize all of them. Congrats again-- very happy for you! I hope to see your works-in-progress on the forums

Weirdly enough, aboard the plane on the way home, an elderly lady looked out the window as we were coming down at Denver, and remarked on the "lovely little hills" in the distance. I looked.
