I remember Bryan was so excited to mention he had hidden ribbons around and told us to go find them. He told us the name and all of us went "oh we have those" and "oh you mean this one?". His great big grin went away and he said "oh" and went to the next group.

Which is the best reason for people to bring their own and have even more secret agendas.

I'm just wary of anyone who has the "Riddle" ribbon:

  • "Where do you get that ribbon?"
  • "What have I got in my pocket?"

The only problem with going for "all teh ribbins" is that after a while they start to get in the way.  On several occasions I had to be very conscious of them when looking closely at the artists work or the contest entries.  To say nothing ensuring that they were out of the way when making a head call.

I had a weird idea for a ribbon activity - it's sort of a contagion/viral type of thing.    For this explanation (and from the original inspiration I got from reading these forums) I will call it 'Gonturzap'

You start with one person (perhaps a Reaper peep or a forum regular) who has a bag of ribbons with 'Gonturzapped' on them.  This person is the first Gonturzap.  They hunt their prey  randomly select an attendee (dark corridors or room corners for added drama) and this person is 'Gonturzapped' and receives a ribbon, plus they then are given the bag of remaining ones and they then become the Gonturzap.  Their job is then to hunt more prey and pass on the ribbon/bag.

Over the duration of the Con, more and more attendees would be showing up with 'Gonturzapped' on their nametag, spurring discussion as to who is the current Gonturzap, how many left etc.

If the Gonturzap is too meta from the forum, you could replace with a more generic concept or theme it to the space opera setting for next year.  But I like the idea of people being Gonturzapped and then having to explain it or see how many others are in on the reference ^_^

So this is a main dish of Sound-Off with a side of Fair Warning and a little bit of cheesy topping:

@CashWiley@MonkeySloth, @Pixel, @Kuro Cleanbrush@Corporea, @Sanael, @Nissiana. Just so you know, I was so excited about my first ReaperCon, I had to give you some mad props in my new blog post sound off using Kuro's great picture after the Awards Ceremony-- hope that's alright! http://www.mochaminis.com/blog/ You know where to find me if you want any ominous black boxes over your identities, I promise to honor your forum personas!

It really was wonderful meeting you all at the Con. Let's please keep in touch on the forums!

[Edited to add two forum names that I totally spaced on]

I'm starting to expect quite a lot of unofficial decorations and nick-nacks at next year's con.

If you stick around on the forums, you might get sick of us pretty fast.
