Next year I am going to bribe someone into taking me around to talk to artists. I tried, but I felt so awkward and out of place by myself. Except Tailspinner, who I knew from here, I tried to talk to him like a half dozen times, but always always he wa chatting with someone

I'm usually a pretty shy and quiet guy. I got to talking with several of the artists just by stopping and thanking them for showing off their work. Stating what piece(s) I liked and asking how an effect or look was done, often started a nice conversation. Everyone I talked with was friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. A few invited me to pull up a chair and chat for a while. I was totally floored by how cool all the artists were.

If they did not go to the Saturday banquet then they did not get it or if they were going to get extra then they forgot to do so afterward.

I got Clockwork Brass in my Friday bag but it was all good since I was buying a few extras of the triads for that night. Did the same on Saturday for the two triads available at that time.

I've reshot this three times now, and I still forgot to add a couple of things to this photo. I give up; it will just have to do.

This is only the stuff from Terri and me; we brought back several extra swag bags, paints, miniatures, etc for others, but what's in this picture stays with us. It includes some stuff that couldn't be purchased at the con, like the ruined fieldstone blocks Castlebuilder brought for me, the base press-texture molds Loim gave me in exchange for bringing him some Hirst Arts casts, and two lovely painted miniatures that were entered in the contest. The "cheesecake" figure from Nissiana was especially touching, and I get a little misty-eyed reflecting on it.

Good stuff. :;):

Ok, here it is. There are a few other bits that didn't make it into the picture, but most of it is there. I think I made out like a bandit for no more than I spent. Now if I could learn to stay away from the melt table...

It was my pleasure to paint her up, and your reaction was beautiful--I'm glad I got to hand her off in person!

Well, it was completely unexpected, and such a personal gesture. How could I not love it? Thank you again for painting her for me. She's already residing on the shelf with my other favorites;  it was one of the reasons I had to retake the picture. This, the knight Michelle painted, and the crymorian Barry did all got moved into the display cases pretty much as soon as we got home. Because they were all already put away, I forgot them the first time I took the shot. Then I realized I forgot our badges. Then I realized I forgot our spiffy new badge reels from Shannon. Even after taking this shot, I realized that I hadn't grabbed the figure from Barry, since it was grouped with the rest of the crymorians. Too much good stuff!

Also, our offer still stands about coming to see us in Houston; if you and Adam get in town to visit family again, you *must* come see us too. :;): We'd love to have you over, even just for dinner one evening.

Got a picture of my loot finally. I did not include what came in the swag bag since everyone got (mostly) the same thing.

14 paints and 20 miniatures. Some of the Bones figures are for the kids. The metal figures on the side are CAV tanks I saved from being melted.
