MissMelons
So what I am understanding now is that Reaper has spoiled the masses over the years. :) Not going to lie. Reaper spoils us. I'm at the point where if reaper Bryan or Ron asked for my first born in exchange for Anne making bright gold again then I would happily oblige and still feel like I came out on top.... ArthurDent
[...] The intent is to do something nice for our fans which travel from far and wide to spend their weekend with us and our guests, and I am aware of no other convention where they sell the con SWAG bags with any regularity, or in fact, at all. That is perfectly reasonable. It's just a bummer for those of us who can probably never visit Reapercon in person. We don't have other options to get some of the awesome extras (if I am not mistaken there was no option to buy the mousling with no name or the paints unless one went for the swag bag). I would have liked to buy the Tournament Miniature as well and hope it will one day show up on the Twelve Days. I think a "Reapercon Special Package" (maybe only the miniatures and paints) would be really great for the fans who cannot attend, but I understand if that is to much effort on top of the con or you want to keep the Specials exclusive for people attending.
Reaperbryan
And, Hungerfan, having done so, are now vilified by many. In particular, one "fan" has told me in no uncertain terms what a villain I am - and I quote "This mess is your fault ... you should step down". That it was not clearly understood that the bags were always going to be limited in quantity is certainly something I could have worked harder to spread awareness. From here, It appeared as painfully obvious to me as explaining that the paint inside the bag would be Reaper Paints. I see now that it was not that obvious from out there, and all I can say is that next year, the policy will be simple, direct, and clear to all. ub3r_n3rd
Personally, I'd like to see SWAG bags for sale that Reaper can control at a little bit cheaper price. So for example, having bags with ALL Reaper products (Casket Works, figures, paints, coupons) for pre-sale with no limits placed on them and special "limited" Convention Edition SWAG bags at X number (for example this year's 50-150) which has other products placed in them from the other suppliers, these could also be a bit more expensive by $10-$15 to cover the cost of the extra stuff and extra weight associated with them for shipping (we know Reaper ships for free when we hit certain thresholds). This way people can still get swag, there'd be no chance of them running out and everyone would be happy. I'd go with the reaper-only swag since that's what I'm interested in, but I know others love the goodies that would be available in the Convention Edition bags. Just my 2 cents. There is always a chance of running out of the Convention Edition SWAG bag as you put it. The definition of limited says that you could well run out and there will be unhappy people because they didn't get a shot at the Convention Edition.

That's why I say that Convention Edition SWAG is limited, then people know well ahead of time that if they want that special edition with the other goodies they need to either go to the convention or roll the dice online - they could even release in waves every 12 hours (so that people in different time zones and schedules have shots at the limited ones), otherwise they can still buy a Reaper-only SWAG bag and still get some nice things. There are plenty of people on here who wanted just the Sophie, Mousling, Paints, and Casket works and were lamenting the fact that they couldn't get them or would have to order separately. It covers their bases pretty nicely in my mind.

Even though its stated as limited there will be those that don't get to in time and will be unhappy and likely vocal about it.

Oh yeah, I understand that, but this would save a lot of headaches as knowing well beforehand that there are a limited number of Convention Swag Bags and "unlimited" Reaper Swag Bags would make so many more people who are fans of this amazing company happy and able to still partake in the festivities at the convention and online.

Clarity is helpful, and I can see where things went off the rails. And even where it might have seemed clear in the beginning. Even I got confused, and I'm a super reaper cheerleader. I also don't think you're a villain, but if you were I bet you'd be a good one. I would be happy to be a low-level minion in that sort of organization. Even the henchman who gets thrown in the shark tank. Beats working for a wizard, let me tell ya. Bag or no bag, I just don't want to be around to see things get nasty again. That bothered me rather a lot. So whatever you (and we) can do to prevent that from happening again I fully support. Even if that meant no bags at all. I'd rather sacrifice the bag than sacrifice the good community, if it came to a choice.

While I was dissapointed at first, I knew Reaper would make it up to us, which they did in offering more bags later. Hindsight is always 20/20 and oversights happen. I would say anyone who would be that upset as to call you a "villan" needs to grow up or get out more. Things happen, disapointment is understandable, If I didn't get a bag I would have gotten over it and carried on. Next year Reaper will have learned from this and adjust. So, Thank you to ReaperBiran and all the other Reaper Peeps for making it right.
ub3r_n3rd
I agree with FnJ and would also like to extend my thanks for even making these bags available to non-congoers. It's amazing what you do for your fans and it just goes to show how passionate we are about your products and how much you care for us.
