MissMelons
He caught me...what's the word.....resenting his awesomeness while the Mr and I were looking at the gallery. The Mr mentioned looking at Cashes work, I said I couldn't stand to look because they were just so intimidating and good, glance up and Cash is standing there like "yeah I can't stand that guy either"

MissMelons
I've been stuck at work for two days...I think tomorrow is my last night so I brought a few paints and things to work on. Unfortunately I forgot most of the colors I was using on my tiefling guy so I decided to work on my frost giant queen/princess lady. I'm thinking of doing a diorama with her and the fire princess for the giants contest. This is perfect because she is large enough for me to practice lining, glazing, skin, cloth textures and not sucking. I found her in the metal exchange (she was honestly the main miniature I wanted to leave reaper con with and I managed to get her for cheap) Cheap sort of has its downsides though. Her previous owner did a pretty good job at getting rid of her mold lines already and any remaining flash, however her left thigh is pretty sunken in at a place. A few glazes of sealer or green stuff should fix that Second thing I'm working on is the Bones Valkyrie. I wanted to practice on more scales. >_>
ShadowRaven
none of my entries this year where bones. if I make it next year though, a couple for sure will be. some of the ones from KS2 look like they will be very suitable. Also, I thought Bryan was going to drop Corporea's Ebonwrath when he picked it up and suddenly realized it was the bones version.
MissMelons
Frost Princess/Queens Skin: I wanted to start here because typically it's one of my weaknesses. I actually managed to not have to use greenstuff/sealer on her legs (I don't have any on me anyways) and I shaded it in such a way that you really can't tell that her left leg is odd. Anyways, I tried to paint her as though she was facing the light head on.
ShadowRaven
very nice. Honestly the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that picture was 'why can I see her hand through the mini?' before my brain caught on that was painted flesh tones, not real flesh tones it was seeing. My brain is a tad slow at times

My brain is a tad slow at times Yeah I never use straight skin tones from the bottle unless its the dark skin. I also didn't want to do the frost giant like everyone else and make her blue. My ultimate goal is to try to do a blue power glowing effect on her spear and to try to frost her hair.

MissMelons
Final update for the night, early morning and such. I painted her leather armor a simple base color. My intention is to paint her armor to resemble leather or heavy suede. I tested out a dark brown on her right leg cuff but I may khaki it if I can't make a dark color work there. Whatever color I do end up using will also be the same color as the laces so it will have to match the rich brown and the khaki brown of her armor.
