I hate you with all the love in the world.

On a serious note, that came out AWESOME!! I love it! And I'm freaking jealous! I hope my frost giant turns out this awesome looking. The light blue in the cloak did EXACTLY as I expected and I personally like the effect. I love the texture of fur on his legs and the depth of that facial expression.

I'm Jelly. :(

Edit: did you freehand stuff on his skull crotch thing?! Very Nice!

yep. I also tried to freehand some phony runes on his necklace, they didn't show up so well though

edit: Special thanks go to John Bonnot, Much of the shading and blending here, I picked up in his class at reapercon.

Nicely done Shadowraven!

Traditional skin tones that are very well done (and, despite silence, those of better skill were advising), and some fun little things, such as the freehand, make this a nice mini to see.

Thanks. I am really quite happy with this guy. Not so much with the pictures, but that will change soon too (I hope) when I get a better place to shoot them sorted out.

I can see the improvement that comes from attending ReaperCon and taking classes!  You did a great job on that frosty guy, and I'm looking forward to seeing the updated pictures later.  ^_^

If you haven't checked out any of the DIY light box for pennies threads Innergeek made one that was much nicer looking then the one I used for years.

http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/48694-ghetto-light-box/

Mine was made out of a box that I had lying around and tissue paper used for wrapping. It worked pretty good, but I did still need more than a couple lights. I now have a Portable Light Box.

Then there is MamaGeek's thread about ditching the light box.

But bascially you are right, you need more lights.

And the mini is looking good, he is so angry, I think his pants should be purple.  ::D:

My first time posting to this forum, please let me know if I misstep :p

Reaper Bones Black: 44002 Rock Troll

I added a more rocky base using rock and some plastic crystals carved from leftover plastic sprue. Also added some more crystals to his elbows and side. The elbows were just because I thought it would make it look more menacing but the one on his side was because of a huge hole leftover from the moulding process. To take care of assembly lines I used some of the rock I cracked apart for the base.

I still have the belt and pouch to do, along with the base and some smoothing if blends in his muscles.

      Feedback and CC most welcome!!!

So the reason I had spare blackstar rifles was that I decided a proper pirate captain needs a sword.

So I built this guy with the bones 3 weapon pack, and the spare head off of the bones 4 bulldog armor.

His sword has much fire, and his reactor a distressing blue glow.

For use in a D&D 5E game I'm playing in, this is my lizardfolk ranger, Suresh.

I really love Gene's lizardfolk sculpts, and I like that they're in Bones, because that makes them cheap enough to be plentiful and very easy to customize. Obviously modified from the original "spearman:" removed spear, repositioned arms, added axe and shield, added lizard crest.

The shield and mud were both made with Happy Seppuku (R.I.P.) stamps; the plants, crest and shield straps were handmade from greenstuff; the axe is from a Kingdom Death: Monster phoenix weapon sprue.

Hi all.  I just finished the Colossal Skeleton that I've had for a couple years now.  For the longest time I was holding off because I was afraid of doing a mini so much bigger than all the rest.  I've gotten some nice reviews on some of my recent stuff so I decided to take the plunge and try my hand at my first large figure.  I have several sets much larger than even this guy so I had to start somewhere.  The closeup pics show how much work I did on the fur for the back lioncloth as well as the wood grain lines I painted on the planks on his right thigh.  I based him on a wooden plaque my mom was getting rid of that I painted black.  I was doing more work on the base, it was supposed to have some more colours in it but I messed up on the drybrushing so I called it finished and hid the mistake with some static grass .  So far one friend has told me the blue rags pull him out of the mini because they look too new and blue while the rest of him is old and rotted.  Maybe he could do with some more staining on the blue but it doesn't bother me much.  Anyways, enough preamble, I hope you all like him enough as my first large mini!

Edit: forgot to apologize for the make-believe "lightbox" photos, but that's how it goes.
