lstormhammer
How about Bronze-Age stuff? Get our Gilgamesh fightin' on! How about Orcs in Bronze-Age gear. That would be cool. Just because they're Orcs, doesn't mean they don't have an infrastructure, as well. --lstormhammer
Michael-TLH
Wouldn't it be cool if you had a whole gang of dwarves in Bronze Age gear... I'm picturing them with the curly beards and such... More Egyptian would be cool as well.
Michael-TLH
Heh... I'd also like to see more mounted figures. Kobolds on Giant bats, Goblins and wolves, dwarves and bears, etc. I know there are a few... but hey! It's a wish list. :)
Kelcore
Well, if someone could convince Werner to sculpt a pretty badass Paladin/Knight-type with greatsword, looking like he's about ready to ruin some poor sap's day what's wrong with 2464 or 2483? (black legionaire w/ 2handed sword or Mangu Timur) both are fabulous & seem like what you're asking for. Who cares whether reaper says it's an evil or good figure? Does anyone really believe that the cross has never been seen as a symbol of evil and the ankh has never been a symbol of good? Stop worrying about reaper's characterizations & paint up Mangu as the most bad-butt holy warrior your campaign has ever seen. Well, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the figures you mentioned. Per se, that is. They are awesome mini's, and I own them both. However, they are not exactly what I had in mind for my character. So LordIrnraven will do for a rtepresentation of my PC (you'll note that Ironraven dosen't even have a greatsword, but still I use him to reprsent my PC...go figure) I will post exactly what I had in mind on the "PC mini" post you started elsewhere here. Speaking of which? Aren't there already a few mini's out there that come close to the PC descriptions you gave in that other post you made? I believe there is. Please CripDyke, don't assume that I won't use a "bad guy" mini for a "good guy" just because it is labeled as a villan, because that just isn't the case, ok? -Kel
CripDyke
Please CripDyke, don't assume that I won't use a "bad guy" mini for a "good guy" just because it is labeled as a villan, because that just isn't the case, ok? okay. it's just that your description wasn't specific enough to rule out either of them & if the conception was that vague, i couldn't think of another reason you wouldn't want to use mangu... as for the minis i described, yeah, Dirk the rogue 2555 looks kind of like the warrior Scot that i playNew Wave's Dirk Photo Artemis Discount Hobby's photo of Artemis looks kind of like Aeolene (the wind/weather priestess i described). Not saying there isn't anything out there that I could use (at least to match the weapons), but nothing matches both weapons AND armor... much less the other kinds of details that make each of these characters unique. Like, can you imagine a wood elf crawling through the brambles with Artemis' hair? Ouch! :(
Kelcore
Heh...very good points,Crip, and it looks like we're on the same "close, but no cigar" wavelength here. :)
Cedar
How about a bunch of sea devils or saughin? They are nasty beasties.
sdnelson
Yeah, or more of the Slithe. They would work as Sahuagin. Nice figs, are there any male Slithe in the works?
TKD
What I would like to see is another version of 2466, the Carnivorous Ape, in a different pose. A bent-over ape resting on one knuckle, or another raging ape with a hapless victim would be nice. It is my favorite Reaper mini. I bought and painted a pair of these so far. An additional pose would be helpful so I can really get a nice army of apes together without having to customize each one to get some differences. skaven-guy
i think it would be a nice addition to ad more in the selection of giant ratmen. i would much rather buy 4 dollar reaper models for my WHFB skaven army than overpriced, and generally not as well crafted Games Workshop models
ThePolo
i think it would be a nice addition to ad more in the selection of giant ratmen. Actually, If Reaper will be sculpting for the Sword and Sorcery crowd down the line, this may not be too far fetched. Don't they have a race of Ratmen in thier Monster book? There are a few monsters in here I'd be ready jump on. cbs
sdnelson
Well, Reaper has signed an agreement with Necromancer Games, which I think is affiliated with Swords and Sorcery, but I don't know if they'll be sculpting for the Swords and Sorcery line. Or even if they'll be sculpting for the Necromancer Games line, it just references that the game supplements will reference which Reaper Miniatures would best represent what NPC's. But that may refer to existing miniatures. Swords and Sorcery do have a supplement with ratmen in it. It's called Vigil Watch: Warrens of the Ratmen. I glanced it over in the store once and I'll probably buy it one day, along with Hollowfaust. They look like interesting settings to throw at a group. So for now we can just keep an eye out for Necromancer Game's products. And if those go over well then perhaps the Sword and Sorcery line may follow suit.
