Thrym
I decided to open a thread for all to use to report your latest mini purchases so we might oooo and aaaah at your shrewd bargaining or clever haggling (assuming your FLGS allows such a thing). Obviously, this means I made a purchase last night at my Not-so Local but Friendly enough Game Store. Field Report :: Tuesday, June 4th, 2014 :: Millennium Games, Rochester, NY I approached the wall of Bones with a smattering of DHL expecting to find little I didn't already have. Immediately, I find the Bright Orange from Vallejo. Field Report Side Note :: Non-mini related :: Sort of because it has mini-ships in it I found the recently released, and on my list of things to buy soon as money in hand, Firefly The Board Game expansion, Pirates and Bounty Hunters. SCORE! Now we can have 6 or 7 players on Friday game night. YAY! - Field Reporter Thrym, Dept. of Aquisitions Edited July 18, 2017 by OneBoot Corrected typo in thread title
fishnjeeps
I managed to pick up 2 of the 3 new Star trek attack wing ships last night. Could have gotten all 3 but I am missing 3 of the previous release so i bought one of them. They aren't supposed to be released until June 11th... That said, the store I play Attack Wing Organised Play tourny's at is a little behind so I now have a ship that will overpower the scenario we are supposed to play. It should be interesting.
Bonwirn
Was wandering through Kentucky last week, and stopped at the Comic Store in London, which had a nice discounted table with.... *drum roll please* 5 Reaper miniatures, all metal, for $1.50 each... Considering two were trolls, one was the ogre chieftain (the bones one with the face-club), a dwarf, and two wererats... not a bad stop... Then, in the box next to the minis, is a handful of Castles and Crusades modules... 13 in total, all for $1 each... SCORE! Since I was about to pay $3.50 each for them through the Kickstarter...
Willen
I had an incredible surprise today, it is mini related and buy-related but not really related... yeah, like that. During the Christmas offer by Reaper, I bought minis to get SciFi Sophie and the Stocking. Long story short, I got no stocking. We had some talk with Reaper support and then Bryan, who graciously sent me a gift code to make up to it. It was really cool on his part, even when TBH I was really looking forward to the stocking and the promo paint. Today, however, I got a package with a dozen Bones and a Sample Paint (my first! I will treasure you, mucky dark brown, forever!). So now I have a cool bunch of Bones (none that I had before) to paint! Thanks Reaper!
Thrym
Excellent reports fellow field reporters. Keep your eyes out for more acquisitions to report on. They had several at our game store though I am unfamiliar with the game. Wish it were closer or I'd check for you. ub3r_n3rd
Guess my most recent acquisition was last week. I don't shop in and around town for figures so I was over on eBay looking for some figures to add to my upcoming diorama that I'm doing for Jasper's sci-fi contest. Anyhow, I ran across a lot of old Star Wars figures (10 total) that I immediately hit the "buy now" on. Spent $16.50 for the lot (including shipping) and later did some research and found that the bigger figure alone will sell for nearly 3x as much as the whole lot. I call that a pretty good haul! Pics if you are interested in spoiler.
Thrym
Another excellent field report. Thank you reporter, Oober Nerd, is it? Welcome to the Department. I saw the post in your WIP. Kind of jealous of Chewie and Darth. I have a trooper somewhere and Han. But do you have a Kellogg's limited edition Han as a Storm Trooper action figure? Hmmm? ub3r_n3rd
Thanks Thrym, sure you can call me Oober Nerd if you like, it's a hard name to pronounce. I think I'm going to be using Darth as part of the diorama actually. I wish it would've come with an Emperor figure, but I'll make it work. No, I do not have that Han as a storm trooper figure

No, I do not have that Han as a storm trooper figure I am calling you Oober from now on, to avoid reaching up for the numbers on the keyboard. The Emperor is just a blob with cape and hood, you can do that with putty! Unless you want hands, in which case you will have to find a donor

Unless you want hands, in which case you will have to find a donor Hooded figure ... I imagine there are hooded figure types right in Reaper's store that could be stand-ins for the Emperor.
ub3r_n3rd
I'll respond to Oober if you guys call me that, just another funny nickname in a long line of funny nicknames. As far as the hooded figure, he's Obi Wan and I'll just use Darth rather than trying to convert him (he's too big anyhow) and I don't want to use a Fantasy figure for this sci-fi project.

Pics if you are interested in spoiler. I believe the smaller figures are actually the pieces from the first Star Wars monopoly game that came out in the late 90's. I had one and never played it so I sold it at GenCon a couple years ago before I got back into painting minis again.....wish I would have just kept it for the minis as I only got a few bucks for it. SGHawkins09
I just got in my most recent order from Reaper. A giant, 3 Chronoscope females, and 2 paint triads. They included a sample bottle of dark green that is a shade darker than the darkest of one of the triads that I got, so I am very happy with it. I also purchased two Ral Partha minis off ebay. A cleric and theif, both female.
Thrym
Welcome, Mr. Hawkins, to the Department. Your report needs some more details and perhaps pictures and links, but excellent work. Is that crayon in the corner there? I just got in my most recent order from Reaper. A giant, 3 Chronoscope females, and 2 paint triads.
