Got a package from CMON today.

Lots of discounted Reaper paints(Dark Elf Skin was missing and marked as 'refunded' in the papers. ), the Andrea Silver paint set(I really wanted the Gold set but it was sold out long before I got around to order it. I don't like the droppers in the ink bottles in this set. Crappy stuff, will probably be replaced), and a mini; Kabuki models Nerah.

My next order from Reaper will probably be used to fill in holes in some Triads(such as Dark Elf... I have the shade and highlight... )

I was talking in a mini painting chatroom, and I mentioned I was looking for a couple of identical minis to do some experiments with metallics (NMM vs. true metallics). Dude offered to let me have some of his warmachine stuff, since he wasn't playing.

It arrived on Saturday. Over $500 worth of Khador models. I'm gonna be painting a lot of stompy robots.

The very first minis I ever bought and painted were Mithril minis sometime around 1993. I started with Arwen and got a lot of flack from my friends for painting her with black hair instead of blond. I just wanted to paint her like I imagined her. To me she had black hair and a white dress. They told me, probably correctly, not to give her a white dress so I painted her skirt blue but couldn't resist leaving at least part of her gown a bit white white. They also wisely told me not to try to paint her eyes. She came out kinda bad, but as a first mini it could've been worse. I was delighted when the films came out and her hair was black and one or two of her dresses were white.  It made me feel less out of place for imagining her that way. I also painted up Thorin Oakenshield and a little later a set where the hobbits are hiding from a wraith while trying to get to Bree.

Sorry for the poorly taken picture (just used my phone). These are all from when I was first painting minis from around 93-94. Mithril has a special place for me. May have to place an order. ^_~

Thanks for posting that CA.

I'd written off Mithril until recently, I thought their minis were dated and that they haven't moved with the times. And then I picked up a relatively recent Mithril mini and was pleasantly surprised by how detailed their minis are now, and how large the range of minis is.

Well, I'd forgotten this was coming - the Electrum Coins from Campaign Coins. I bought the Horror Game pack (50 coins, 1, 5 and 20), and added on a pack of 50s, and of course got about seven other coins from stretch goals, as well as a nice burgandy drawstring bag to keep them in.

I'm really fond of them - the 1 coin has a skull, the 5 has a spider, and the 20 has a giant hand with a hole through the middle of the coin. Very appropriate for a horror game.

This pic is from lost minis wiki:

There are 16 out of the 17 minis from the set, and there were a couple extra, a fire Urn and a summoning circle, that I suspect are Grenadier, as well as 2 horses, with 1 rider that I suspect are GW Bretonian...

Not to bad for $25!

They are going into the paint remover soonTM to remove old superglue, and maybe some paint....
