Acquired today: more colour babies!

20170210_161338_zpsyrihceig.jpg

Got my order in the mail from Battlemart today, and despite going through frigid Winnipeg, it seemed to fare alright. Got myself some new old Reaper Pro Paints; they weren't in a blister, but at a buck apiece, you can't really go wrong. Managed to snag Olive Green, Sable Brown, Catseye Green, Troll Olive, Exotic Turquoise, Poison Green, and Candle Flame Orange. Quite pleased to finally have them in my hands. I hear an agitator in them, is it the skull in these ones?

I have acquired a dress shirt, textured black necktie, a new tie bar to replace the one I can't find, a white linen pocket square with black trimmed edges, and a pack of cotton handkerchiefs. My suit ensemble is now complete! Now I just need to take the jacket back to get the sleeves shortened and shine up my shoes. Then I'll be 100% ready for the fancy cocktail party that my friend is throwing at the end of the month.

I've never spent $450+ on preparing to be a guest at a party before. Though I suppose all it did was actually make me spiff up my wardrobe a bit.

If you wear a suit, would that make you Ruly?

I don't think so. Not unless a dapper outfit of a light gray suit, white shirt, black tie, pocket square, black suspenders, black shoes, taupe trench coat, and brown fedora(NOT A TRILBY!) means I'm no longer breaking rules...

Acquired $400 in fabric for garb in case we got chosen to be the new Baron and Baroness of our SCA Barony.. we did not so we have $400 worth of new garb for the hell of it now :)

I've got about $200 worth of linen that I've bought over the last couple years that I need to make into garb. Got any good patterns for 14th Century German? I'll settle for anything in the 12th-15th century though, really.

I was told to look at the Manesse Codex to get ideas and stuff, but I can never find it.

In this day and age, I think it puts you at a polar opposite to the rest of society......
