StoneHaven Miniature Pop-Up Terrain Kits Kickstarter

Recommended Posts

I like the sepia. The washed out quality reminds me of a map I printed on vinyl which became our favorite map for D&D skirmish games. Painted minis really stand out on it, I find they can get a bit lost if the terrain is too colourful, especially with buildings.

Gorey had a pop up book for Dracula... and once you reminded me.... Yeah, I can see the similarities.   But I am an enormous Gory fan... and can recite the entirety of the The Gashlycrumb Tinies Alp

Come over to the paper side,   we will let you use the sacred glue, scissors and coloured pencils!

Stonehavens Terrain Kit Kickstarter is now live.   https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2087444096/pop-up-miniature-terrain-kit   It's a little different as it's for "pop up" style terrain.

I'd really like to have PDFs in both color and sepia, but I'm ambivalent about which I get in a physical copy.  As far as I can tell only the color pledge gets you both PDFs.  Am I wrong?  I'll totally take sepia a month or two early if I get a color PDF...

But at least for now I'm in for 1 full set.  ^_^

Aha!  Found the answer to my question in one of the updates:

"If for some reason that I haven't yet come up with a good explanation for, you'd like your printed kit in Sepia, but access to the color .pdfs add $2 to your pledge."

I will probably do this.  Because I'd like an earlier delivery date.  ::D:  I do also love the look of the sepia, I just like having more options later.

Ahhh I am failing my will save....

1K away or 30 backers away from from the Spells and Alchemy shops, and it's currently at 12 terrain kits. That's $3 per pre-printed kit. No painting necessary!  :;):

The hedge and rocky terrain kits look easy to assemble, and you can print additional copies of them as well as the forest.

I am so ridiculously excited about this project.  And if they deliver on time then I'll have something to keep myself occupied while waiting for my Bones 2 rewards to ship.  I think I'll even print some extras so that my kids can color them for me.  ::D:  (I'll let them use those ones, too.)

Also, if you print out the KS pages of their previous campaigns, you'll have a wide assortment of "cardboard heroes" for your kids to play with! Just print, color, mount onto cardboard stock, and cut out! You can use small binder clips (with the metal wire removed) or "universal card stands" to stand up the characters!

Also, DriveThruRPG has free and low papercraft kits for the older kids!

I did snag some basic papercraft PDFs from DriveThruRPG that I planned to get out this summer.  Plus I've got some Fat Dragon terrain that came via a swag bag.  It's probably time to get that stuff out.

It's not as cool as the pop-up terrain, though.  :;):   Speaking of, they had to add more stretch goals!  Alchemy shops for everyone!  ^_^

Long Lonesome Highway hex has just been unlocked!

*13* pre-printed terrain kits for $32. Nine buildings, plus forest, hedges, rocky, and road terrain. PDFs included to make additional copies.

Hope we get that troll bridge!

Bridges and roads, all the infrastructure you will ever need. Especially since the bridge will have a variety of flat water features that can be added to any other hex, like a pond in a forest or a stream through a shrubbery. And if you just print some water hexes without bridges, you can assemble any table-wide rivers. It will be easy to cover a tabletop with hexes to build endless 3d skirmish maps, that you can fold up and carry under your arm. It just needs to raise $2000 in 36 hours.

This is a storage box/ terrain house I'm building for my kid's High Rollers set (which was found today and played with all without the knowledge it was a gift).
Will have removable roof maybe with shingles. Currently  just have walls and door. The extra cardboard from the door will disappear.

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.
