Qwyksilver
Until Oddell F'ing Beckham Jr makes an 84 yard touchdown (for 16 points) catch and pretty much makes it an even match!
haldir
Glad I decided to take a chance on him earlier this year. I remembered his name in the draft. Shockingly I'm close in Stefan's other league thanks to him. Gonna be interesting.

Heisler
Since we have pretty much wrapped up the season I would like to discuss some major changes to the league. I feel like it has really stagnated and I would like to see more participation from everyone and see some actual trades take place during the season. 1) There are a lot of good players sitting buried on rosters that never really see the light of day and since no one seems willing to trade they sit there week after week, all based on the mentality of keep away. This particularly hurts teams that have gone through injuries and can’t get a quality replacement because someone is holding three QBs on their roster. To combat this I would recommend dropping the number of bench players from the current 8 to 4 that moves us from 16 roster spots to 12 roster spots (13 would be an option as well as a number of leagues I’m familiar with use 13) and will require active management of your roster throughout the season. 2) With the reduction in the number of roster spots I would follow that up with a reduction in the number of keeper points available dropping from 8 to 6. This should serve to free up more quality players and make the draft more interesting. I’m not suggesting a drop in the number of keeper points that owners have managed to accumulate at this point but I would be willing to discuss a reduction in those points as well. 3) Possibly just scrapping the league as it exists right now, keep the draft order based on this year’s team finishes and restart with a standard non-dynasty league. We can discuss roster size (again I’m in favor of smaller, rather than larger) and scoring as needed.
haldir
Well I can say I used my bench quite frequently this year but I'm open for changes. I'm not sure about keeper points right now but I'll be letting Mcoy go this year. What he did this year doesnt = the 5 pts I'll have to spend next year. Is there anyway to do anything about injuries during games?

Not as far as I know, I thinking being able to substitute during games would be particularly hard to pull off and could be abused but I'm sure there is no way to make it happen in the ESPN leagues. styates
Heisler is correct. Roster settings have two options: Lock Individually at Scheduled Gametime or Lock at First Game of Week. I am not opposed to roster limits, but I for one enjoy playing keep away. If I can make your team worse by benching a player that I don't need, I don't see the harm in that, but maybe that's just my opinion. I remember a season in one of my other leagues where I drafted Rod Smith ahead of the Denver fan in our group and benched him every week just to taunt him. That being said, maybe trimming the roster a tad would be for the best, I don't know about cutting it in half though. Heisler
I don't necessarily have a problem with that philosophy, but if you are going to do it then you should be sacrificing a valuable spot to do it. Sixteen roster spots makes it far to easy, while 12 might be extreme 13 or 14 would be more reasonable. It would also eliminate non-participating owners Edited December 22, 2014 by Heisler
haldir
I can handle having 4 bench spots. No probs there. Is there a way to adjust position count? Say only 2 qbs 1 Def etc etc. Open a couple new slots for people to join? That would thin down the herd.
Qwyksilver
I used my bench a ton this year, because of injuries, and match ups. And I also draft and scour the waiver wires specifically to build my bench for the long haul. And I made a trade this season! Megatron fo Brees. And I can't say I am too sad about seeing Breesy go this season, even if I had to sit on Megatron for half the season until his gimpy ankle healed. And I made the trade specifically for the reason that I couldn't afford to keep both Brees and Wilson after this season, and Wilson was the better option both on points, production, and age. So I traded away a player that would cost me 5 points this year for a player that will now cost me 1. Qwyksilver
I'm going to have a difficult off season deciding on who to keep and who to cut. I have 9 points. I could conceivably keep most of my starters for next season, since almost all of them will cost me 1 point (only Lacy and Wilson will cost more than 1 right now). But I can tell you now, if someone wants to start offering me some points for players, I will entertain the notion. We have some good parity in the league now. There hasn't really been a dynasty. Randy was the closest. He was the first possible repeat winner this season, so that is good. But yeah, it would be a little nice to see more movement on the rosters. Part of the issue is that the poor performing teams basically get to reset their roster costs by cutting their top player and guaranteeing they get to redraft them now, for new cost of 1 point. This keeps good players on teams and makes people avoid the decision to trade or cut that the better performing teams have to consider. Heisler
I agree. And I used my roster a lot this season, but because Randy was losing early in the season he managed to score every player that I wanted to grab right in front of me. And that's fine I just would like decisions to grab and drop players to be a little harder and I would like there to be a few more players available when someone does go down with an injury. If you want to keep three QBs on your roster go ahead, they may actually be worth making a trade for if the rosters are smaller and someone needs a QB. People will have to manage their rosters better because of the bye weeks. Just some thoughts it would be nice if we could get some more people involved in the discussion right now. And maybe the ultimate answer is just let the dynasty part of the league go by the wayside and go with a traditional league, or maybe have both. I don't want more than 12 teams involved in the league and I wouldn't mind seeing it drop to 10.
