So after painting a bunch of clerics and adventurers, and stuff with armor and loads of stuff, I just wanted to paint something relatively simple, so I grabbed these three chicks. I wanted slightly different skin tones, so the one lying down started as fair skin, the one standing was tanned highlights, and the chick with the black hair has a base color of terran khaki. I also just wanted some really simple bases so just put them on bases, covered them as flatly as possible, and just painted a monochrome, very basic base for each one. As I look at their pictures amplified, I see a whole bunch of issues, but oh well. The one thing I'm not too happy about is how it seems the terran khaki chick is a bit shiny. I might have put too much sealer on her, or too much sealer/not enough water mix. Anyway, these are all a bunch of really old figures from around 1979, sculpted by Dennis Mize for the Children of the Night range.

Hi 72moonglum...

Nice execution of the 3 ladies...I have the full set painted...the only thing I hate about these figures is the tiny size...I wish that Reaper would come out with a set like this in the modern true scale of 28mm...they could be used in so many modern day projects...Next to a current Reaper figure...they look like children or (wee folk).

Ah, yes, the good old days, when men were men and 25mm meant something...

Hi Horsecanadian!

I don't really wet blend as much as I do lots of different washes.  For example with the blonde chickey poo, I would have done a base color of fair skin and then don't a controlled wash of tanned highlights afterwards, and then after that another controlled wash of tanned skin, then tan shadow (I really do like the triads), then I think it was earth brown, then dark skin, then dark skin shadow, then maybe I threw in some dark elf skin shadow, and then last was walnut brown, or something like that.  Then I'd go to my wet-brushing (as opposed I guess to dry brushing) to get the raised areas, so fair skin highlights, then I think it was creamy ivory then white.

I just saw on youtube not too long ago, I think what was Jessica Rich's video, where there was an example of wet blending and I was really impressed, it would be a really good technique to learn if I could figure it out!

Grimreaper71...

This set of ladies was released by Ral Partha in 1979...Children Of The Night...under the title of (Victims)...As I mentioned in my post above; they were a nice set but looked like children or (wee folk) when alongside a modern Reaper female figure (as you can see in the posted photo of the set)...advised that the posting contains nudity!

Now you understand what I meant when I said (wee folk)!!!...These would be some excellent miniature figures if Reaper did them in the modern scale...the potential of usage is really endless!
