ub3r_n3rd
I use all my figs at the table (all handled by all of us) and as long as I seal them with my testors Dullcote I've never had any problems with paint and/or primer coming off due to the primer being brush on.
Ddot
I love the Reaper paint-on. I've also found out that Citadel's Imperial Primer is pretty excellent, although i am inclined to thin it a bit with water first. Living on the East Coast of the US, we have inclimate weather 9 months out of the year... right now it's heat, humidity, and the when it wants to , wind... good luck spray priming in that! So paint-on is almost a must, but it's also helped my painting a bit.
Loim
I've also messed about a bit with pushing RMS primer through an air brush, and it works well.

So paint-on is almost a must, but it's also helped my painting a bit. I live in Minnesota, where it's feasable to go outside and spray about one week out of the year. I've recently discovered the value in having an alternative. Lately, I've taken to using my airbrush to spray some watered-down gesso onto my minis. The benefit being that there are no fumes, so you don't need ventilation. Mostly I've been painting my Bones, so I added a bit of black paint to the mix so I can tell how well covered they are. I use regular white gesso for metal minis. I haven't tried brushing gesso on directly, but I hear it works fine.
smokingwreckage
At the moment I'm using some MSP black primer as brush on, and vallejo black airbrush primer as brush-on. I would say so far I prefer the Vallejo as it seems to be just the right consistency straight out of the bottle. As for final durability, I can't say.
junex
After waiting for a couple of months my Stynylrez primers finally arrived (delay was on my side not the seller's). Haven't had a chance to test them yet but the grey bottle had some dried primer on the threads. Perfect opportunity to test the durability. I really had to dig in with the tip of my tweezers to scrape some of it off. Most of the time the tweezer tip just slides off the primer. I'm impressed! I hope that's how it performs when I brush it on. But I guess my other concern now is how hard would it be to strip?
