They just updated the last project, this is coming back soon, end of July or early August. They've reduced their target, and it looks like they've scaled back the box contents a fair bit (40 minis reduced to 29 for instance), but they are adding an expansion to the base pledge, so it might be closer to even. Here is a link to the update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/136317723/demigods-rising-clash-of-heroes/posts/911667 and to a draft of the new project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/136317723/1646048508?token=363ad955

I really like the mini's but I also don't need another game. Hopefully they'll tack on a mini's only pledge level.

I'm not sure how I missed this the first time. looks awesome.

<MOD> Comments moved from previous cancelled project thread.

Hmm. Minis look nice...game looks intriguing. I never saw this during its first iteration, so this is all new to me.

Presentation/explanation could stand some cleaning up, hopefully they will since this is.just a preview page.

Can anyone translate this pile of gibberish: " Imagine a full team fight from DOTA or LOL, implement HOMM turn based combat style and put it all on the chessboard - that's Demigods Rising!"

If they removed all the acronyms I think I would know what that sentence means...with the acronyms I am lost.

DOTA is Defense of the Ancients, LoL is League of Legends. They are real time PvP tower defense games. HOMM is Heroes of Might and Magic, it's a sort of standard turn based fantasy RPG.

My take away from that is that it's a tower defense type game but with turn based combat instead of real time.

It means, presumably, that it is a baord game designed by avid computer gamers. Which is something that does kind of put me off. From my experience, avid computer gamers usually tend to needlessly complicate board games.

I'm also sceptical about the figures. The sculpts look great mind, but I'm not so sure whether they'll work that well in plastic. Some have a vibe of being designed for resin and I'd bet money against their turning out well if the plastic used is akin to what CMON had for Sedition Wars.

Ah, thanks. That makes it more clear. I'm not a huge non-table gamer (I do enjoy console/pc games, but...you know, limited time and money), so I'm not, as the kids say, hip to the lingo. I have heard of the second two of those, and I think I even know a few people who play them. Thanks for the help!

Great looking figures, I'm also more interested in figures than the game as a TTRPG player rather than board games. Looking forward to seeing their finalized pledge levels as it might be worth it to buy the game to get the figures.

I asked about a minis only pledge, but doubt it. Looks like the individual resins will be $15-20.

They seem to present themselves and the project very well, so I may back this one in the true spirit of kickstarter- to help out.

Yeah, they seem not to want to do a Minis only pledge (I'm wading through that pre-launch comments section now). I asked about how TALL they are, I've seen mention of the plastics getting 40mm bases and the resins getting 45mm bases, but I don't want 40-45mm figures as they'd tower over normal 28-32mm figures on the table and aren't the 54mm+ that I'd be willing to paint up as "giants."
