So I have been looking for some epic mini's holding a church warden or average pipe and am coming up short. I figured I needed to get some help. Besides the cutest Pipe holding wizard EVER, I'm having a hard time finding them. I love me some Reaper Mini but I am not exclusive for this search.

The idea is to find something along the lines of Aragon in the prancing pony...

OH And that is a recommendation too, Mini with pipes!

Sorry, that was a little terse. I found your thread title confusing because as far as I knew a church warden was a person, a caretaker for a church. Also you have a possessive on what ought to be "heroes," so it looked like you left out the subject of a sentence.

I think it's a cute idea, but you may have to greenstuff your way to it.

Requests should be put in this thread:

http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/47090-minis-we-would-like-to-see-10-fantasy-version/

The folks at Reaper read that one regularly and take it into advisement (that's not a guarantee or anything, but they do listen).

Well the "hero's" was intentional -  rhetorical grammar usage.

And this was more a call for help to find Mini's holding pipes and the recommendation was an after thought. I will post my recommendation in that threat. Thank you for the link.

You might check the Mithril Miniatures line of LotR figures.

Well the "hero's" was intentional -  rhetorical grammar usage.

I'm sorry to hear that. It was incorrect, as is your use of "Mini's". Both are examples of the so-called "grocer's apostrophe".

Correct usage: "three heroes" [pl.], "three heroes' churchwardens" [pl. poss.], "hero's churchwarden" [sing. poss.]

In this title, "Churchwarden-toting Heroes" or "Churchwarden-Toting Heroes" (stylistic differences) would have been correct. ("Churchwarden" seems to be normally joined in at least edited SAE.)

Edit to add an option for correct usage and information on the original question.

I humble myself before the jury: I will concede defeat as I do not want to get into some discussion about meanings and terms and who is right and who is wrong. Thank you for the correct usage, seriously, I will review it and make changes in my grammar.

Now miniatures, I still have had no luck with my current Google searches.

Wow, those are surprisingly hard to find. I wonder if that's a reflection of how unpopular smoking has become.

The only one I found was a 1950's style leading-man scientist with an alternate pipe-smoking arm from Hasslefree. A quick search for Prof. Beattie will turn him up.

I have to admit, if you're looking for a non-wizard with such a pipe you might be out of luck.  I checked to see if there was a pipe among the various bits & pieces but nothing turned up on a search.

I'm not sure if you'd have better luck searching for LOTR miniatures or perusing the Dark Sword site, but you might be stuck either cannibalizing some poor wizard's arm or using green stuff to sculpt a pipe.  Shouldn't be too hard to sculpt, being an inanimate object.

I KNOW RIGHT! I'll look that one up, thank you!

I'm not going to bash your grammar, I don't care. As far as pipes go, I think there are a few wizards that might have them... here you go using the key word "pipe"

Yes Sir, I came to the same result. Although those are appealing, they are not quite what i'm looking for.

"So what are you looking for Devin?"

That's a good question and the answer would be: Something a bit more pronounced, a bit more... I was going to hyper link a few images but I think a link to my search results will work.

Examples of Pipe Smoking in Lord of the Rings

Less wizard and more warrior if that makes any sense?

¡ I was actually JUST ABOUT TO POST THAT! Thank you for reaffirming that I am not crazy... well that might be to much to  say...

I feel an awesome conversion with green stuff coming on.

Yeah, I'm wracking my brain trying to think of a figure that'd be close to what you want. Sounds like you'll have to either pick a warrior figure you like AND a wizard/other w/ a pipe and do some conversions OR use some green stuff (or other type of crafting medium) to make your own after picking out a warrior figure you like best. I'll look around a bit more for you, but as Pingo said, they seem to be pretty rare.

      Mwuahahahaha!!!!!!!!

So one of the central villains in my HS game club game are going to be a band of cultists worshiping an evil snake god.  I've been painting up the various Reaper Bones cultists to represent this group.  This info is unknown to the players yet, so I had a yelp of excitement and joy when I was reading the kid's PC backgrounds last night.  One of the PCs listed her estranged mother's profession as a "cultist".  Perfect tie in to the villain - but then I had a sad face when I realized this PC is a gnome, and thus her mother would be a gnome, too.

So now I am on a quest to find a decent mini to represent a gnome (or halfling) cultist.

      Any suggestions?

      Good afternoon, brain trust,

I'm trying to fill in minis for a home brew D&D campaign. Four of the overarching personalities in the world are personifications of the winds. Each has a tower in my world, dedicated to their reverence, and each person controls the winds corresponding to a cardinal direction on the compass using an instrument unique to them.

The North Wind is cold and ruthless; abandoned by a former beau, she desires to leave the world as cold as that unfaithful ingrate's heart was toward her.
The South Wind is young, warm, and fancy-free; inexperienced, she sees the best in everything, and just wants everyone to be comfortable and happy.
The West Wind is constant and productive; order and normalcy are associated with her.
The East Wind is unusual, untrustworthy, and often bears ill omen; chaos and sickness tend to accompany her.

For the minis, I really like Julie Guthrie's Spirit of Winter (N. wind), Spirit of Spring (S. wind), and Spirit of Fall (W. wind), but the Spirit of Summer doesn't fit my picture for the East wind, and I don't want a mini that's so under-dressed. I imagined them as a group of sisters, although I have considered making the east wind a brother.

Can anyone think of a mini that would fit the bill and (at least sort of) match the other three mentioned?

I'm thinking of purchasing a Hot Glue Gun and wanted to know if anyone had recommendations and why you like a particular one.

      Thank you!

Just finished a short article for DaggerAndBrush showing you a selection of tools that will come in very handy for pretty much any terrain project. I keep it simple and recommend a number of tools for cutting and measuring; painting, sculpting and engraving; and tools that are nice to have, but not essential.

So if you just started making terrain or intend to make some this may come in handy.

The right tool for the job

Might have some time to kill in Portland this afternoon. Can anyone recommend any game stores with broad selection and interesting stuff?
