Will Joe Survive the Zombie Apocalypse?

I've gotten entirely away from painting High Fantasy and am having a grand time exploring other genres. One of the genres I'm into is zombie survivors and have discovered the work of Kev White who sculpts for Hasslefree Miniatures. His grasp of human anatomy is excellent and his style is immediately recognizable.  

 

I painted Joe up last month and am just now getting round to posting him. I made the base myself from Sculpey.

 

 

 

 

 

Joe looks like he knows how to swing a bat, he's fit and he's got attitude. After plugging his attributes into the official CDC Zombie Survival-ability test, Joe scored an 8 out of 10.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm hanging with Joe when the apocalypse arrives.

The giant sail on top of his head would definitely slow him down some in an easterly wind, thus the deduction of a point from his survivability...

Very cool!  The basework is perfect for the mini, and the colors and paintjob are spot-on.  My only critique is that missed mold line down the left side of his head behind his ear.  (Of course, I'm one to talk!  My latest post - a harpy - has mold lines galore!)

Most definitely would. I've got a survivor from Reaper, Denver that I really like, but the poor sod is carrying a suitcase behind him. Poor Denver is zombie toast.

I'm notorious for not removing mold lines and it always comes back to bite me in the arse.

No worries Jay. I asked because I sometimes still have trouble understanding American humour. Many people don't get my weird sense of humour and I suspect I have said quite a few things that have sounded very strange to many people.

Very very nice job, I too often neglect mold lines;(. The boots especially are exceptional and look very realistic but on a miniature this well painted it's really hard to pick one point above all others. Also really like the blood on the base ;)
