I think I am following the guidelines of the board by setting this up as a new thread. I am sure a mod will tell me otherwise at some point.

Anyhow this is the first set of Arcworlde models I have got round to painting. I have based them using some milliput and sand. I will add more detail once they are painted.

I have taken a few pictures of the full group I am currently painting.

Some progress made on the Halflings tonight the skin painted with Tanned Skin followed by a Walnut Brown wash. The models have a lot of detail that comes out once paint is applied. I have yet to decide on the colour of the uniform, although blue and cream/white is quite appealing.

The Halflings were part of my pledge so I'm looking forward to see what you do with yours.

As far as the rules for the WIP forum, it's currently under review so go ahead and do as you're doing.

Great stuff can't wait to see what you do with yours. Make sure you have a good clean of the feet, the flash/stringy bits is all curled up on the toes. I thought I had cleared it all but one or two had got through the prep stage.

Maybe some variation on the uniforms using say three colors and all of thier shades.  That is a lot of Gnomes to somehow make unique.

Sounds like a plan I could alter the uniform to differentiate between the spearmen militia and the bowmen and swords men. The rules are not available yet to I don't know whether you need to tell them apart.

I think that's a good idea. You can do each uniform differently, whilst having at least one colour that is present on all of the units. This will give make each unit distinct, but also tie them together as a group. This is what I see wargamers do.

I'm not sure I could make that many unique uniforms for each one. My stripes aren't the best.

No need for stripes or other free hand details.  Just mix up which color is used for each item of clothing, jacket/shirt/pants/hat etc..  Also use lighter and darker shades of the same color.  As long as there is one main color present on each Gnome they can form a unit and be seen as one.

Update time! I have been busy doing these 17 models over the last few nights. I have finished off the skin and have put some colour on for the hair. On both the head and the feet. Next up is getting the eyes done followed by the mouth. Then armour and clothing.

I am really enjoying painting these models as they are quite different in the sculpting.

Update time. I have managed the get a fair bit more done on all these models so far. I put a coat of boltgun metal on all the metal items. This will be highlighted later, I then used a dark grey for the trousers and cowl.

The four I am showing here are the halfling captain and the three swordsman. I decided in the end to go for a green uniform. The human/Albionians will be in the traditional red so I wanted something different for these. I have yet to decide what to do on the shield but I am contemplating something freehand.

Also I have the eyes do, just need to out in the pupil. They look a bit scary in the current state they are in.

Next up is some shading and highlights on the tunic and the metal items.

Another update today, that 2 in a day you can tell it's the weekend!!

I pressed one with the three swords men and did some highlighting with some greens followed by a wash to blend it together. I did the same to the weapons and the grey cowl.

Not sure I have for the eyes right I may check in the daylight.

These guys need a coat of Matt varnish and then I can look at the bases. I think I am going to leave the shields for now. Nothing inspirational is springing to mind, and so I will wait.

Any comments welcome.
