I see.  I was thinking they'd be storage tanks for the Hooch in a more urban part of the woods, not  post apocalyptic at all.  My apologies for coming across that way.

No need to apologize, Darkmeer. I added the finished tanks for chaoshead to show the difference between primed & painted, which in turn cause you some confusion. I'm really looking forward to finishing these 40K thingies & getting back to something more imaginative.

The Rock Packaged arrived in the bleak deserts of Iowa...well, at Dr. J's. AND the Industrial Waste Section has increased by a couple of bunkers & a shed. SO here are the primed/yet -o-be-painted pieces:

An overview:

...with a few Orks for size comparison...& because they like their pictures taken:

There'll be a couple more bunkers & some general debris to come along with the painted pieces. In the interim your comments would be most welcome.

Very nice use of everyday items to make terrain sir.

I wish I had the eye for that sort of thing myself.

Your primed pieces look like you have given them a drybrush as well.

Still looking forward to seeing these finished up.

Thanks, for the kind reply choashead. I think seeing the modeling potential in ordinary stuff/junk comes from starting in the madness when I pretty much had to do scratch pieces & convert everything simply because there wasn't much ready made things around. Now there's lots of stuff around that I either can't afford or think I can do better with my junk.

My prime/base coat is a thin black coat for the shadows with a white dry brush over it...the white provides a base for brighter colors AND picks out the details for my tired old eyes.

I have the painting first of the bunkers started with a third bunker added to the mix...it won't be long now...I hope.

More good looking terrain!! What are the bunkers made out of? Specifically the blocks that are partially buried. Foam cut/carved to shape?

You got it...just a piece of 1" insulation foam cut, shaped, & puttied with a bit of sanding for texture...the dunes that are threatening to bury the bunkers are also insulation foam...covered with glue & sand.

The bunkers including a third, blown up one are almost finished. Hopefully photos will be up early next week possibly with the tank done before the weekend...then back to more imaginative thingies from HELL!

Thanks, Joe. It's always helpful finding out what Folk like or don't about the pieces I do...glad you like them.

This batch will be done in a green similar to the green portions of the other tanks...Dr. J. is a man of conservative tastes. I finished the third bunker first...I seem to do that a lot; it's the partially ruined one that I didn't take any W.I.P. photos of. That aside, I have about an hour's worth of work to do on the other two bunkers. Then I'll put up some photos of the three.

The first, & possibly the last three bunkers are done...OH BABY (the normal just-released-from-Hell reaction/feeling I get whenever a commission piece is completed)! AND here are some almost adequate photos of the trio:

There you have it. The next things to do are the tanks. Then the pieces will be off to the Dark, Bleak World that is 40K Iowa...insert blood chilling scream here. Then, until Himself comes up with further things needed for his gaming board. I'm free to do whatever I want...considering present physical condition....Old Man dances around the room once or twice.

Until then your kind comments would, as always, be welcome.

Looks awesome dude! I am back but super busy with a job finally, I love you man!

If it is for 40 k, 40 k has lots of great flavor, mainly the human empire is super duper paranoid and evil, 1984 type propaganda everywhere, posters, prayer ribbon thingies, and trash! Litter everywhere!

Thanks, spencerjohn. WELCOME HOME...it's GREAT to have you back again!

Dr. J. (Justin) is limiting the terrain to desert stuff. Doing a Necromunda style Hive City or some proper Post Apocalypse stuff would be cool.
