My Baby Has Left Me

...until the end of the week.

My darling one has been called upon by her job for a major entertainment company to attend a week long seminar in Los Angeles. I miss her. She WILL be coming back on Friday, but I'm off work until school starts, and I am moping around the house, missing her. The dogs miss her too. The cats, not so much.

 

I dropped her off Sunday. On the way home, I bought a Slurpee with a plastic straw with a rubber handlebar mustache attached. I looked at myself drinking Slurpee with this giant ridiculous handlebar mustache, and laughed. It helped.

Yesterday, I went back and bought another Slurpee, this one with a huge blonde droopy porn star mustache, somewhat resembling Hulk Hogan's. It helped. A little. I occupied the day by somehow finding the motivation to go in the Doom Room and paint a bunch of Bones. Surprisingly, my work is improving. I concluded by touching up the Elvis Force and assembling them in the shadow box in the bedroom.

Breakfast this morning consisted of a hunk of roast chicken, four Swiss Cake Rolls, and two cups of coffee. While sitting naked in front of the computer, arguing with someone on Facebook. Truly, barbarism is setting in fast.

Please help me. I need links to something to keep my mind busy... or suggestions for something to do with myself. Bad jokes. Cute cat pictures. ANY durn thing. HELP!

Ever wonder why they are called an Owlbear and not a Bearowl?

Throw on some clothes, go outside, suck up some vitamin D, study the domicile's exterior, go down to the garden store and buy a new plant of some sort. (But not a tree; a tree is a decision to make together...)

 

Return to domicile... Add it to the landscape.

The hawksquirrel is, indeed, an interesting experiment. I just can't help but think they'd have died out quickly when released into the wild, due to their unnatural urges to eat themselves...

And well you might. Although my baby seems to like it. And the purple hat is only for special occasions.

 

I liked the idea of some sunshine, so I put clothes on and watered the plants out front, and from Sunny's reaction, you'd have thought someone took a dull grapefruit knife to her. Y'see, Sunny the Dog loves water, playing in water, and getting wet, and when I water things, she wants to chase the water stream coming out of the hose and attack it. I often exercise her by just spraying a stream of water back and forth in the back yard; she'll chase it and leap into the air and bite the hell out of it. And she could do this for hours.

 

So I watered the plants out back, and we played water games. And from Freckles' reaction, you'd have thought someone took a dull grapefruit knife to her. Freckles the Dog does not like water, except as a drink. She's not hydrophobic, but is not the sort of dog who plays in the rain.

 

So I hung up the water hose, still running, and we played ball for a while. Interesting thing? Sunny is perfectly content to stand there and bite the water stream, even if no one is using the hose, as long as Daddy is somewhere nearby. Freckles and I pitched the ball around for a short while before Sunny even REALIZED that Daddy and Freckles were doing something else!

 

So we played ball for a while. I left the hose running. Now that side of the yard is quite soggy...

 

Doom the Cat watched the whole thing with weird kitty fascination from the kitchen window. He was rather amazed looking. Why would anyone chase WATER?

When you go to the big-box garden store, DIY, home fixit center, for plant hunting, maybe you can also get a laser pointer thingy for Doom Kat to chase.

 

And if Doom Kat will not chase a laser, confiscate his Tomcat card.

When you go to the big-box garden store, DIY, home fixit center, for plant hunting, maybe you can also get a laser pointer thingy for Doom Kat to chase.

 

And if Doom Kat will not chase a laser, confiscate his Tomcat card.

I confiscated his tomcat card when he was old enough for his first visit to the vet, thank you. Doom will watch the hell out of a laser pointer dot, but he's not terribly interested in chasing it. He much prefers small objects tied to the end of a string.

 

He also enjoys Bones. I left Ellen Stone on my workbench a while back when I was trying to figure out what to do with her, and she disappeared during the night. Found Ellen downstairs in the shag carpet... two months later. I was amazed she hadn't been chewed to bits.
