Bonwirn
Having recently stumbled upon a hoard of minis, I can't seem to find several of them in the online catalog, the NICed Catalog, or just in general searching.14074 Bull Orc Archers(3) Reven Adept14075 Skeletal Warriors(4) Necropolis Grunt14100 Awakened(3) Nefsokar Grunt14101 Skeletal Archers(4) Necropolis Adept14117 Woodcutters(3) Reven Grunt14154 Vale Breakers(3) Elven Grunt14156 Mercenary Warriors(3) Mercenaries Grunt14161 Dwarf Piercers(3), Dwarf AdeptWhen searching, I can find the (9) packs for $39.99, or a single mini, but not the (3) or (4) packs as shown. The numbers and names come from the blister packs. Thanks for all your help!
Qwyksilver
Those are from the start of Warlord, when you couldn't get singles or 9 packs of grunts, just the 3-4 packs. They may not appear in the NIC because the models themselves have not been removed from the catalog, only the packaging has changed. Those models were basically tripled and made into the 9 packs. Yup, but now that I've been playing a lot of Warlord, I wish the three packs were back. I rarely field nine of one model type.
Fremen
Yup, but now that I've been playing a lot of Warlord, I wish the three packs were back. I rarely field nine of one model type. I second this, I would LOVE if there were still those 3 packs. They were the perfect amount of models for Warlord (for the way I have been creating forces anyway). Qwyksilver
Those arguments are about 8 years in the past…Reaper made the decision after examining sales, and market demand. The 9 packs won out. And they were not going to run 3 SKU per grunt so we could have 1, 3, or 9 packs. If you want less than 9, order them piecemeal in the boneyard, or buy the 9 pack, and recycle the other models for other games. They are also exceptionally handy for RPG encounters. Bonwirn
Any business decision that is not frequently evaluated for its applicability is potential loss in sales! When stores "have" to carry your product, then helping them with inventory and limiting SKUs is a good plan. When you don't "force" stores (and we all know to whom I am referencing) to carry your product, a SKU is a data inventory and sales tool. It is not like Reaper has 10 of every SKU packaged up, hanging on the peg boards, and waiting in the factory for someone to order it. (Cavalry comes to mind, specifically). Let's look at the Dwarf Piercers... P06114A 4.78 Body A P06114B 4.93 Body B P06114C 4.78 Body C P06114D 2.18 3 Crossbows Total 16.67 Just three of them is $16.67 ordering pieces... or $50.01 if you wanted all 9 of them (yeah, I know, there is already a 9 pack for $39.99). Let's go look at SKU 06014: Dwarf Crossbowmen (4) two each of two models... uhm, to me, doesn't look like the same models, so we have ANOTHER SKU for (4).. Now, I can get generic Dwarf Crossbowman (not named people) with 5 different models... and I can get a 4 pack or a 9 pack... or I can order individually at a MUCH higher price... Since Reaper prints their own cards, packages their own product after casting it in their own production area... Limiting your product by not wanting to use of a "virtual" number seems a little, I don't know, shortsighted? I am happy to have found these pieces, as my son is working on his Warlord Dwarf Army and we had to use stand ins for the crossbowman. He would like a couple more... but 9 is too many, and it is hard to see 9 for $40 ($4.44 each) and realizing that ordering just one is $6.96, two is $11.98. They already have the SKU... and I don't think that there are 500,000 preprinted cards in the Reaper warehouse just waiting to be used... And, I am not advocating this for every "single" SKU out there, but deleting a SKU based upon low volume that is not also removing the product does not seem logical to me. ladystorm
Thank you for your input. This decision was made years ago and is not open for debate or discussion. Warlord line development chose a different sales model. Thread is closed.
