Kaylakaze
These forums look completely dead, and not surprising since very few people seem to play Warlord, despite it being a great system (or seeming to be, I haven't gotten to play, see "no one plays" comment). I've even spoken with game store owners that sold Reaper product that didn't even know Reaper made a miniature war game. The books, especially Savage North, are near impossible to find anywhere but on Reaper's online store. And who wants to pay $20 for a book for a system when no one plays? A possibly good way to get people to play (maybe) would be to do like has been done for CAV and release the rulebook as a free PDF. Maybe even take most of the individual army stuff out and sell PDFs of the fluff and expanded army lists.
Reaperbryan
Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of the sales figures of our products, and continually evaluate and re-evaluate our plans and priorities.
Maredudd
Hey, I just found a local group that plays Warlord and will finally get a chance to play! (I'll also be playing CAV!)
Moderator TaleSpinner Posted August 19, 2014 Moderator Share Posted August 19, 2014 Wow, really. We play a lot up here. Books and minis both for sale and sell from the FLGS.
smokingwreckage
The game doesn't get continually re-released with ever more self-contradictory rules, so that does leave the forums pretty quiet ;)
joshuaslater
True. I am interested in whether the final models will come out to complete the range. Bryan?
Maredudd
Except for us newcomers . . . and now that I have a local group I'll likely post stuff more often . . . especially as I am interested in the Halfling Faction . . . :-)
Girot
The advent of Bones made Warlord a viable option for me and my friends. The books were a worthy purchase, even just for some good reading. Taltos is a rich and diverse world with a lot of crazy possibilities.

Bonwirn
Between the PDF quick rules over on www.reapergames.com and the army builder that includes all the Special Abilities for the army selected as well as the spell lists, you really only need the books for a few tricky rules. That being said, I bought the softcover book through my local game store and the hard cover Savage North at Reapercon this year. At worst, you are out $20 for the softcover that three or four people can chip in some cash to pick up. Add a few minis to the order as well and you hit the $35 free shipping level in the US.
Teskal
It would be so cool if Reaper promote their Warlord System more. That is one reason why I was hoping for a PDF Addon for Warlord during the bones Campaign. Better even a free PDF. I do not think all 17000 bones buyers would play it, but a few would have. smokingwreckage
Were I a betting man, I would bet on Warlord getting its own KS sometime; after all, CAV is getting one, right? So that's 2 KS's for the Kitchen Sink, one for their oldest published game system, and thennnnn... but yeah. Speculation on my part. If we speculate too much we'll get shut down :) Rumors are the enemy! DIE RUMOR DIE!
Wizard Lee
I had looked into Warlord a few years ago since my FLGS had a copy. But everyone up there was doing Song of Blades and Heroes. I would love to give Warlord a try, but I would like to see a little more support out of Reaper. A pdf version of the rules would be extremely helpful. McSmash Smash
Warlord is our go to game for my gaming group. It's such as straight forward and fun ruleset. We can just set up and play without having to refer back to the rulebook every 5 minutes, and building armies is a breeze with the free army builder that Reaper put out. I also got to play Monster Mayhem at GenCon this year which uses the Warlord rules which was awesome. I'm also running a Savage Worlds game set in Taltos. So yeah, Warlord is definitely a live with my group. But, I would like to see Reaper promote it a little more. I think it was 3 years back? The last time Reaper had a booth at GenCon. They ran a Warlord tournament which was awesome and not so cut throat like some of the other tournaments I've been in.
TGP
Plain PDF version just rules; no factions; monochrome: $0 [?] Edit--- Further thought: Hmmm.... The Intro to Warlord (Lite) Free PDF: Rules only. No or minimal fluff. Partial factions. Just stats for Warlord models that exist in Bones or for Bones models that are simple proxies for official Warlord models. So perhaps only three or four factions, the ones that can build armies with Bones models. There would be sample lists built entirely out of Bones models. All the ingredients for this exist. Print-on-demand version via Zazzle (or somebody) with color and complete faction add-ons and miniature photos (for real money) [?] Edited September 3, 2014 by TGP
