Giant miniatures needed!

Hi there,

 

Just ordered the 3 D&D 5th edition corebooks and notice something in the free basic rules: Fire Giant, Frost Giant and Hill Giant are now "Huge" monsters instead of large.

 

So, do you guys know any nice miniature of these three giant types that fits the 28mm scale? DDM has nice frost and fire giants (including one really similar to PHB's cover) but they are all large size.

 

It doesn't matter if it's plastic, metal or resin.

The Reaper Fire giant king probably will fit a huge base size (2"\50mm) plus he's bones and will be pretty cheap.  I think they've got a few frost giants as well in bones and a hill giant.

Didn't someone somewhere have a photo comparing sizes of various brands of giant mini?

I don't really like Bones fire, frost and hill giants. IMO they have extremely large fists and weapons even for their size. But thanks anyway!

 

Don't get me wrong, I am a Bones backer and I do like the male storm giant and the Ettin for example.

 

Pingo, both "Frorigh, Frost Giant" and the Otherworld Frost Giant looks more like the style i want! And are probably closer to the Huge size scale.

I wouldn't get set on official 'sizes' of monsters as much. Your players don't care and they'll just change in. 6th edition, or 5.5 or whatever comes next. Just have fun and use what you like !

The BONES giants fit nicely on 50mm gaming bases. True story.

Wiz kids official mini line for 5 ed might be your best bet for the new sizes. Not sure of the street date thou. Miniature market.com has singles for pre order. They got pics for everything.

You may want to look at the Frost Titan D&D mini for a huge base frost giant.  I believe that is a huge base and looks very frost giant-ish.

Here's a picture from someone else who made a frost giant size comparison. I think at least one of the unfamiliar ones is from Iron Wind Metals (formed from Ral Partha).
