IMHO:  As much as Bones Infantry sound appealing I'm going to have to caution against them.  Bonesium has diffiuclty capturing detail on objects that small.  Purchasing them in metal (with a plastic base) is still at a reasonable cost given how tiny they are.

I think thats what I'll be doing . . .

^That^ sounds like a very good plan.

Another scale inquiry: if a human is 10mm tall  @ 1:180 scale how much height does his bulked out battlesuit add?

Is/are there such thing(s) as battlesuit:

  • Basic (for use on "class M planets" only) ?
  • Enhanced/EHA (for use on vacuum worlds, solid nitrogen-ice worlds++) ??
  • Extreme/EXO (for use on furnace-vacuum worlds+++) ???

I think one-man suits for these differing environments might be different sizes / this could help explain any size differences that might be present in existing infantry molds and sculpts.

Edit:

++Think Titan or Triton; methane lakes optional.

+++Think of a gas giant that orbits its star closer than Mercury does. It has airless moons...these get really close to the star once per month (their month).

Unused infantry make pretty good paint agitators.

It's like a horrific pigment-filled torched chamber. :blink:

is 10mm or 6mm the better size?

-- Depends on what you are playing? If you play BT and think it is 6mm then I have a little spot on the moon to sell you for CHEAP!

I'm going to leave the 'mech "scale" alone, but modern BT infantry, by IWM, is explicitly sculpted in 10mm scale already. They made the decision (with fan input) some years ago as a way of getting more detail into the tiny little troopersl.

Sort version: CAV infantry will work well for both.

ETA: I may have missed this up-thread, but I should ask: How does CAV handle proxies from other manufacturers? I have a small mountain of 10mm Sci-Fi tanks and infantry from the shot-lived Agents of Gaming GROPOS game. It'd be a shame to waste them.
