The bases for Bones 2 kickstarter were to be made in house, they are round but I can't remember the sizes other than small, medium and large.

Oh.  Yeah, I don't think we had announced that yet.

 

In addition to the CAV bases and the 3 sizes of round bases with no slots (built reversible - inset on one side, fat on the other - similar to the appearance of a DDM base) we have 13 other bases w're now making in house.

 

Versions of our round bases with the beveled edge (like chronoscope uses) and no slot, beveled edge and a slot, in various sizes. Square bases with and without slots in various sizes, the hex base, and round bases with no bevel and sot and no slot variants. 

 

I'll try to get pictures of these up soon.  Not all molds have been shot yet, so some of them don't have copies, but I'll do what I can.

 

EDIT: Most of them haven't been run, actually, because we're trying to run each mold in sufficient qty for a new release of them.  I'm not going to be able to get anything, picture wise for at least a week or two.

Will these be sold in largeish groups like 50 or 100 bases at a shot? Or individually? Are they the same "feel" as the ones in the cav earlybird or a different plastic?

Interesting.  I have gone from my old school surprise at separate bases to an interest in them.  Hexes sound pretty cool.

Not a Reaper person, but I would suspect that the bases will all be the same plastic. The cav hex bases I got are essentially the same as the fist full of bases I got at Reapercon, which are essentially the same as the typical Warlord/Pathfinder base. All made on the injection molding machine Reaper bought after KS 1

Same material.  It meets all of our needs in terms of being inexpensive, easy to work with from the consumer end, and easy to work with in manufacturing, being recyclable (we can remelt the spurs and incomplete bases) and such.

 

Plus it's a nice satin black finish that is quite attractive.

 

I am told that there will be both small quantity packaging (8-12 bases) and large quantity offerings (50+ bases) next year, although I have no specifics. Blisters to hold 50+ bases are still being developed, and pricing (of which run time per mold and units per mold are huge factors) is still not available on all pieces.

For something like 50+ bases, I kind of prefer a bag to a blister pack.  I imagine it is cheaper, and it leaves me something convenient to store the bases in until I get around to using the all.

I would agree with that. Especially if it is resealable.

Do I remember correctly that we will be able to unlock our pledge manager after ACE all ships? Do you have an ETA for unlocking yet?
