This is the last of the Frog Series that I have to work on.

I have NO idea what direction I will go in on this one.

He just looks hysterical, and a fun Sculpt from my favorite sculptors Tom Meier.

It is 28mm, not his normal 25mm.

So I'll just begin painting him up.  I intend to have a blast along the way,

no matter how long it takes.

ROFL..

He is in THREE parts.. a Crown, a Cloak, and the figure.

I will attempt to get him together with his cloak quickly, since I really don't like have parts laying about.

The Crown can sit in its box until I am ready to attach that.

I will keep to the Dark Green/purple shadow on skin, since I really like that.. BUT;

The rest of him is fair game for experimentation.. He might land up with shocking pink,or neon green hose.

I have NO idea !

Fun is what I am up to.

I finally him covered in liner so I can see all the details.

I also put the brown on his cloak.

Will now have to think of the colors that I am going to use...

Decisions, Decisions.

Oh, and one of the great things about a Tom Meier Sculpts is the details.

Notice the froggy's back. that will be covered by the cloak, but he still sculpts all those details

and it is such a treat to find them when you get that brown coat on.

So has it been decided he will be neon green like robinh suggested? :P

I'm trying to find the "Keeper Of The Robes", His Grace, The Duke of  KerPlunk, to find out what His Majesty has in

the Royal Closet.  Once I find out what he has, we shall determine his Sartorial Splendor.

so you decide which colors to use by the colors of the marbles that fall first?  (KerPlunk)!

ROFL.. I would love for that decision to be so simple as a Kerplunk !  Sadly, it tain't..

Most likely the decision is based on the 115 vials of colors in front of me, and what I want to deal with.

You might just get your wish on the neon Green hose, ROFL.

I'm looking at the greens and chuckling away !

It ISN"T Easy Being Green !

I had a lot of fun this this one, On top of making him fly, I really wanted to make it look like he was from a black and white movie. Doing that but keeping everything  distinct with such a limited color palette was challenging. I really enjoyed this project.

      I hope you like it.

And good evening to all towards the end of the year of 2020!

So I just finished this one this morning, another Wood Elf sculpted by Tom Meier for Thunderbolt Mountain Miniatures and recently re-released by Ral Partha Legacy.

His eyes are very small, and I tried to stay "in the lines" but they may have slightly gotten out of their orbits.

My only other problem here was trying to figure out the colors, but hopefully what I eventually chosen doesn't clash.

      Anyhoos, enjoy!

Warren of Vile Fungi is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm EST on Friday, November 1. It will include over 2 dozen individual fungoid-based miniatures developed and sculpted by Pedro Navarro. He's been working on this project for over 2 years in collaboration with Mortal Arrow. It's a deep dive into heroic, fantastic, and terrifying fungal beings from the 1970's to the present. Ascomoids, Gas Spores, Basidironds, Ustilagors, corrupted Myconids, and heroic Myconids are just some of the many hand-sculpted miniatures from Pedro.

The project itself will be live for only 2 weeks, so please consider supporting this effort by Mortal Arrow and Pedro Navarro. Every little bit of aid is important to us, so we kindly ask that you follow this project at the link below:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/…/12638849…/warren-of-vile-fungi

You can see more details about the miniatures on the Mortal Arrow Facebook and Pedro's blog here:
      http://mr-bugman.blogspot.com/

We will be posting details and updates on this thread as well.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help and enthusiasm!!! We are very excited to bring scary, and heroic, fungi to peoples around the globe!!

Winter Salutations to you cold weather Reaper ptarmigans!

So I'd mentioned in a previous post how Ral Partha Legacy, a sister company of Iron Wind Metals, has recently opened up and one of their ranges they have acquired is Tom Meier's Thunderbolt Mountain Miniatures.  So here is one of them a Wood Elf Lady:

I really love these miniatures. I'm used to painting Ral Partha stuff, but these are quite a bit different, as the detail is so fine and detailed.  The eyes and some of the jewelry is so small and hard to paint.   Even though they are 30 mm, they are quite realistically proportioned so lots of the details aren't exaggerated.

Anyhoos, hope you enjoy, and if you've got a few moments check out the Ral Partha Legacy page!
