I would be willing to still go in...if I had a use for 30mm bases >.< as much as I like how neat and organized they make the base look, the husband despises them. And as he's the one that plays with the minis, it's his call =P I'll probably pick up some of the larger Jungle bases at retail sometime at a later date

I'm going to need to remember to pick up some of those 25mm bases that they'll slot into.  But I might wait until after I get my Bones 2 bases and can check and see how they work.  ^_^

As far as I know, they don't actually slot into a 25mm base. You may have to cut off the bottom "ring" portion of the insert. It should be easy to do.

Good idea!  If I have to buy 25mm bases that are deep enough to make it work it's not a big deal, but I'd just as soon test to see if it fits on the bases I'll already have a bag of.

Based on the pictures of the Bones II bases the 30mm inserts will fit inside the raised lip on the 25mm bases, although there may be a gap between the edge of the insert and the lip on the base, and it will likely raise it up a bit.

That said, by the time this fulfills we should already have the Bones II bases, and these inserts are the same diameter as typical 30mm base inserts from other companies (they just don't have the plug depth), so I'll at least be able to do a comparison with those when Bones II arrives...

They'll fit almost exactly on TOP of a standard 25mm beveled-edge base.

One thing that worries me about this is that they posted that a mold takes $10k to make, and then suddenly released 6 new bases at $60, another at $65k and another at $70k. So 14 (or was it 16?) molds at $70k. Are they going to stretch themselves to thin to do this properly and in time? Or did I miss something?

They said near the beginning that they were essentially going halfsies with the backers on the molds. So  they cover 5k of costs.

I imagine CMoN/MA is confident the bases will sell well enough to warrant the investment, given the popularity of the existing resin line.  I suspect this version will supplant the older, more expensive resin bases (but that's just speculation).

So, ATM I'm in for 4 sets - mostly so I can get the 20$ per price. If nothing else, I'll get Arcane, Jungle, Ancient, and Forest... I'm ridiculously pleased to see ancient. I never thought we'd reach it, since I was hoping to get all of the outdoor bases first, and things seemed to have stalled out, but it's a truly lovely base - historic, and yet timeless; the leaves keep it firmly in the here-and-now even though the structures are ancient. It gives it a current feel that many other "ruins" bases lack, in my opinion; a lot of them feel just... old, while this one makes me feel like a wanderer crunching through the leaves in a ruin and gazing at the history around me...

Aside from those 4, I hope to get at least 4 more. Graveyard, Mystic, and Trash, probably, and then either Wooden or Derelict... Unless something even cooler crops up.
