A USPS flat rate box filled with lead completely wouldn't weight 70lbs, which is the weight limit on flat rate consumer products.

Just to illustrate, a flat rate box filled completely with lead would cost just under $6 to my door. Vs just under $10 for CMoN shipping me 2 sets of plastic bases.

It certainly seems to be giving some folk weird numbers (some reports of adding sets reducing costs)

to me in the UK 4 sets will be $21.?? which is close to the $20 estimate I've got written down on my wants list from during the KS so cmon is basically right where they said they would be cost wise (it would be the same for a single set which is why getting just 1 would be foolish)

If the posted rate had been $10, I certainly wouldn't have backed.

That's why I didn't back it. I was too worried shipping would be more than I wanted to pay. I really prefer shipping costs be stated up front. I realize that can screw the company if shipping rates jump on them, but I'm not willing to assume that risk, either.

That's why everyone uses the old term shipping and handling.  If they sated that the cost was just for shipping then it would be illegal to charge more then what postage cost is.  Add in handling and you can cover the cost of the packaging, paying the workers and make a little for yourself (though, I believe, legally you're only allowed to cover the first two with handling--but it's hard to really prove otherwise).

It does suck and it's a major flaw with KSers are you never actually know what shipping will be until after they've taken your money as opposed to a regular store.

By clicking the "Checkout with PayPal" button below you agree that the final products may differ significantly in name, appearance, composition, color or other material manner, and that the shipping dates may be earlier or later than the provided estimates, and that you also agree that you will not seek a refund or compensation due to these changes.

Yeah, kinda scary itn't it. They could send us a bag of horse turds and what could we do? lmao

Edit: Also chipping in my shipping, $14 to Canada, not bad for the 4 sets (136 bases). Technically 272 bases if you use them separate.
