I have a couple of the resin forest bases from an online sale and I'm glad I got them cheap. Just can't find a use for them, it's a narrow niche of projects that would be able to use them imo.

I went for modern bases to use with my Jailbirds; they should be in the mailbox today.

I got Ancient and Jungle. I tried to get bases i couldn't do myself, and Jungle with all its plant life was one of those. I'll get some WIP pics of the ones I started painting up already

Micro Art bases have always been pretty heavily textured.  I used the jungle bases for my Warlord elves, and some of those are nearly as tall as they are wide.  Love the ancient bases, those seem to be the ones with the most flat space available.  I got Mystic this time, and am happy with the options for placement. One thing to remember, you can use a hobby knife to cut off parts in order to make figures fit better. Especially with Ancient and those little leaves everywhere. This new plastic is a little harder than the old, but still very easy to work.

I painted a couple last weekend and they came out well. I noted that they take spray primer better than RMS brush on. They seem to be slightly hydrophobic, and I had to do 2 coats of brush on to get coverage.

That's a very good point. The comparatively easy placement options is why I ordered 2 sets of Ancient and a set of Arcane. I also ordered Forest and Graveyard. My daughter wanted the Forest for her Mouslings and various animal familiars, while my son wanted Graveyard because undead.

I didn't bother priming them. They are made of PVC so I went with Brown liner on one and grey liner on another. I'm not sure those dark colors were a good choice for the Ancient bases. Might go with grey or white Reaper brush on primer next time.

Mine also arrived, but it'll be a while until I get through my painting backlog before I really get to check them out and start using them. Looks good on casual inspection!

Mine arrived last week and I finally had the chance to check them out. I got the following sets:

-Graveyard

-Forest

-Temple

-Ancient

The temple and ancient ones should be the easiest ones for me to work with, because they are mostly 2D. The forest bases have a tremendous amount of depth, and it's going to be awhile before I try them out.

Is it safe to assume that most people are removing the broccoli bases from their figures to use these? I am a basing noob, so apologies for the dumb question.
