The "ranting and raving" in the comment section to me seems to be more due to people being unhappy with how CMON has handled things in the past (missing stuff with Rivet Wars, shipping costs to Asia etc ... not necessarily with the shipping for this KS ... but if they ship at their expense to certain hubs, the shipping costs for the remaining distance from the hub to the customer seem to be a bit high indeed).

They'll ship my rewards at THEIR cost to one of their international hubs ... for the EU, the hub is in Germany. That would mean that shipping to an address in Germany should be a lot cheaper than $15 to $20 ...

 

To be fair, they quote the $15 to $20 for EU shipping, and knowing Deutsche Post DHL's robber baron international rates, odds are it really does cost that damn much to ship anywhere outside Germany.

 

Of course, CMON being CMON seems like a good enough reason not to back this.

Does look good ... but sorry, a Polish company (Micro Arts) and I still have to pay $20 for shipping to Germany (neighboring country)? Yeah, I know, production is probably in China ...

And no 25mm?

I think I'll wait until I see more stretch goals. Atm, it's a pass.

If you're in Germany, and they're charging $20 for shipping, I'd just go ahead and order direct from MAS. They make a good product. (Though their resin bases are hand-polished and come in just shy of their listed sizes; and have been banned in some WarmaHordes circuits.)

MAS also has a much larger range of bases than what's offered in the KS *and* you can get them now, rather than next year.

 

Secret Weapon Miniatures has resin 30mm bases in packs of ten under a dollar apiece from the OLGS.

 

I think I know what sort of KS I'd like to see with Bones after the CAV one ends... :D

MAS has some neat bases! [just went and looked] but the non-US currency is a detractor for me sadly   I'll keep a eye on this KS and hope for some 25mm bases and some variety [i like the Mystic style, but I don't need TONS of that same exact style]

The usd-euro rate isn't that bad, but the international shipping can be a killer. I'm glad for this ks. $8 is way better than 8 euro.

I was kind of hoping for a new kind of base as the next stretch goal...not more of the same base set I pledged for >.< I like the Mystic set [can be painted up as a variety of terrain, the green translating to snow, or sand, or etc]...but I'd like some different styles

I am a bit sad about no 25mm, my husband is very particular about bases fitting properly in the squares on his game mat, so if I keep my pledge and get all those 30mm I will need to be selective in which minis I give them too

Yup, I'm a no-go unless there are 25mm as I am also very particular about bases that fit in the 1-inch grids.

Dragging different KS's together, is there a hard rule for CAV bases to be 1" hexagonal? Or can you houserule this?

A lot of the CAV mecha are already wider than their base, so for them, rebasing them on a 30mm or 40mm would be a solution?

I was hoping for another style also and not more of the same.  Yeah, more bases for the same price is great.  But I want variety.  Non-fantasy just doesn't interest me at all.  And showing others this KS yesterday at game day got the same response.  They want more variety before they get in on it.  Even at the single set level.
