Agreed. I am sticking in to keep an eye on updates for now, and hoping for more variety. I can still use the 30mm, on figures my husband won't be using or whatever, but not if I am going to get mostly the same base design

The bummer is I assume the 50k goal will be another 50mm base.  So we are far away from more variety.  Of course that is just a guess from the order of the previous three goals.  So here is hoping 55k is a new set!

Hopefully :P

I am a bit sad about no 25mm, my husband is very particular about bases fitting properly in the squares on his game mat, so if I keep my pledge and get all those 30mm I will need to be selective in which minis I give them too

Lack of 25mm not that big of a deal to me.  I let the players use any mini on the table that they take the time to paint, even it it is slightly larger than the square.  It all fits good enough anyhow.  I play on a battle mat though and not on items like the Dwarven Forge tiles where size might be more critical.

Someone else also made the comment that perhaps the inserts themselves are in the 25mm size range.  So perhaps you can use them without putting them into a base?  Not sure how well that would look or work.

CMON just commented that they're looking for requests for what new bases to add to the campaign. Post your thoughts! I'd like to know which MAS bases are best for fantasy gaming. I've linked the MAS bases in the CMON comments section.

The simple fact is, as I said before, we wanted to be sure you got insane value for your basic pledges before anything else. We have much in store for you, and trust me, you'll all be part of much of the decisions about what happens in this Kickstarter.

Micro Art is a huge line, lots of interesting options... And you never know what you may see... But I think you'll really enjoy what we have to offer you (of course, I'm pampered, my favorite bases are the Chaos ones, and soon I can get 136 of them for $80... I remember back before when I purchased the same amount for... Well... Let's just say I don't want to think about it :X)

I would never give spoilers away, but perhaps a topic of discussion could be what Micro Art Bases people wouldn't, hypothetically, mind seeing :)

I didn't even realize that 25mm vs. 30mm was a "thing" until I started looking it up due to the KS comments.  I was thinking of "free movement" usage, but the problem with the larger bases not fitting on tile maps makes sense.

Also, I'm not surprised that the stretch goals are more bases.  Producing the bases in bulk lowers costs, so bulking up the existing orders with more of the same is a reasonable way to go to add value while keeping costs down.  Adding an all new design to the lineup will significantly bump up the required costs for production.  I'm not saying I don't want to see more (far from it!), just that I understand why they're doing what they're doing.

I made it simple. Since I play WarmaHordes, and most of my minis come from the Privateer Press lineup, I started basing everything on round-lipped bases at 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, and 120 millimeters. Then I painted the back of my WarmaHordes 48"x48" board white, lined in a 30mm grid, and laminated it (for dry-erase use). Voila! Everything fits. A grid square is a grid square, as long as they're all the same size.

Looks like two of my choices are going to be the plank bases, for my pirates. I just hope that they come in with some 50mm purchasable add-ons. I need 6 of those, and will only get 4 with a double pick of planks. (Three planks would give me way too many 30 and 40mm bases.)

I didn't look too closely, but it doesn't look like MAS sells 25mm bases or square ones, so making these sort of bases would cost more, I guess

I know i can eventually find a use for the 30mm. Some figures that are larger than normal human size but not big enough for the next base size fit nicely on them, and figures my husband has no interest in using in his games. Or just for practice painting =P

I look forward to seeing more variety though haha. Glad to hear more is coming

Even before we started playing Warmahordes, we were using 30mm because they look better to us. Now, it keeps us consistent on all fronts (and one reason I chose Legion was because I knew I could stat up the beasts and they'd make sense in my D&D game).

We still use a 1" grid when we use a hard grid, but when we use the projector we just scale the grid whenwe turn it on, so it ends up about a 32mm square (we like to see a bit of space around the figures' bases. But yeah, a grid is a grid so long as its consistent.

I just want them to add a stone base theme that won't conflict too strongly with my established Legion bases to the KS. We'll likely get in for the planks, but I don't reeeeally need the Mystic bases. Unless I start playing Retribution. That would look cool, Ret on the Mystic bases. But I'd rather have stuff for my Legion. I was hoping at the very least the next stretch would be another theme instead of just more bases, but more value is good, too.

I'm actually using Dragon Forge's Forgotten Empires for both my Legion and Trolls. More muddy and trampled for Legion, and more gray and snowy for Trolls. Ret would look cool on the Mystic bases, but I'm not re-painting 8 warcasters, 7 light myrmidons, 9 heavy myrmidons, 2 homemade wreck markers, 10 full units, 28 solos, a battle engine, and a colossal.

It's. Just. Not. Happening.
