Nope! These will be lovely, and I'm gonna get two sets - enough to base pretty much all of the small & mediums I plan on painting, at least, and have some left over for PCs - and 16 50mms should be a good start on my larger figures, too. I might grab an extra pack or three of those if they're cheap, too...

So i'm curious about something. In the update he says this:

"These are additional OPTIONS for people to choose from. So, for example, at the All The Bases level, in which you get 4 sets of bases, you'll be able to choose any four from the total unlocked base sets."

Does this mean that, at my 1 set pledge + stretch goals, I'm can choose a set from the unlocked sets available + stretch goals? Are the stretch goals going to be more numbers of the same kind of base?

I'm just wondering haha. It's all well and good to get a LOT of bases in a style I like...but I'd also like to get more than just that style. So perhaps they're planning on doing stretch goals to unlock additional sets to choose from, and also stretch goals to give us more variety alongside our chosen set?

I'm just a bit confused lol

Yes; they are simply unlocking additional sets for backers to choose from when fulfilling their "X sets of bases" pledges.  I think they don't want backers to think the additional unlocked sets are being added as free stretch goals.

Ah okay. Hopefully future stretch goals will be varieties you can add, not just the same base type  ::P:

Between the short timespan for the project and the fact that "mixing and matching" styles would complicate orders, I doubt they'll add something to that effect.  I expect they're trying to keep it fairly straightforward for simplicity during fulfillment.  But hey, I could be wrong!

I would like an answer about pledging for multiple sets, though...

I think ten unique bases (for the 30mm bases) is quite a large variety for each style.  I would have expected maybe 2-3 varieties, especially if they're targeting the wargaming market (where it's generally more about sufficient numbers than unique models).

That said, stretch goals for additional sculpts for each unlocked style would be sweet (though could add time to production/fulfillment).

Have you tried distracting him with shiny objects?

Seriously though, if he plays any kind of mini game with a lot of figs these bases are a really really good deal for some added pizzaz to the models.

These should make decent game markers:

* Chaos: Devastation markers for Cthulhu Wars.

* Mystic: Gate tokens for Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, and Cthulhu Wars.

* Trash: Debris tokens for Zombicide

No idea for planking.

Plank bases should make good objective markers for just about anything. It's a pile of boards, fallen down fencing, collapsed mining timber, ruined building, etc.

It's currently at 34 bases for $22. I'm not sure I can resist this one. I mainly paint for display now, so my bases only have to fit the figure, not a rule set.
